Pink Tutu Sparkles here, back for another fabulous blog post! This is post number 6910 for you lovely lot, and we're all about those pink tutus, right? I'm in Hitchin today, it's a beautiful little town, just perfect for a sparkly Pink Tutu Sparkle performance, and I think the locals are in for a treat.
Travelling to Hitchin
Getting to Hitchin is a real treat. I love the train, especially when you get a window seat, so I just popped down to the station and settled into my journey. You wouldn't believe the number of outfits you can try on when no one is watching, it's almost as good as having my dressing room on the go! Thankfully I managed to keep my big pink tulle skirts from brushing against the passengers sitting next to me. But I swear, I felt some very judging stares... perhaps I should bring a smaller tutu for public transport... maybe in pink and white stripey fabric? Hmm... I'll brainstorm some travel options! I wonder what a pink tutu looks like on a horse? Now, wouldn't that be a sight!
Anyway, once I got to Hitchin, I just couldn't resist a wander around the beautiful streets. It really is so lovely, quaint little shops and the old houses are just beautiful, so much history. Of course, I just had to make a pitstop at a charity shop to find some little gems for my collection. Imagine my joy when I found a beautiful old pink floral tutu! It's not perfect, needs a little TLC and perhaps some rhinestones, but the potential is there!
The Hitchin Performance
You know me, always looking for new challenges, so tonight's show was a right giggle. Imagine my surprise when they announced the "Pink Tutu Sparkles Drag Showcase", featuring... me! Oh, what a thrill!
I went straight for my bright, bold pink feather boa for a little extra drama and danced around the stage in my favourite tulle skirt. I really wanted the locals to experience some pink tutu joy and it seems like I delivered! The crowd was totally up for it. It's all about getting everyone dancing, laughing and smiling, and if I can get some folks to join in with a bit of twirling, then that's a bonus! The whole thing was a riot, so much fun, and even if I say so myself, the crowd was very appreciative of my sparkling performance.
The most fun moment was when a group of little girls in their beautiful pink ballerina tutus came up to me after the performance. They were just so excited, all giggling and wanting to chat. It really reminded me of my childhood, dressing up and being in a pink tulle wonderland. Sometimes, the greatest joy in the world comes from the smallest moments! It truly makes me want to inspire every little girl (and boy, yes boys, can dance in pink tutus too!) to be bold and to shine! And let's be honest, who wouldn't want a wardrobe full of beautiful pink tutus?
What Pink Tutu Sparkle Did in Hitchin
Besides the show, I also popped into a bakery on my way out of Hitchin. You simply must check out their cupcakes - just like tiny little works of art, perfect for any drag artist's sweet tooth. There were so many colours and flavours! Naturally, I bought the pink one. The owner even commented on how brilliant my tutu looked - and even let me try on a chef's hat! I reckon my next performance could be "Pink Tutu Sparkles - the Chef!" Maybe not a complete tutu-inspired look, but definitely some sparkle and glitz for the audience to enjoy.
I also went on a hunt for a local shop selling ballet shoes. You know me, a love for ballet and all things pink tulle means that I need to get the best fitting shoes to dance my heart out! I found a perfect little boutique with the most wonderful shoes - even one in pink satin with sparkling crystals. I may just have to go back for that one… you see, when a girl like me falls in love with something, I don't just settle for a passing glance, I really get swept away!
