Rainham: Tutu-tastic Adventures

Hiya, darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, and you are most welcome to my humble blog - www.pink-tutu.com, itā€™s post number 6912! As a girly-girl it goes without saying that my love affair with pink tutus is ever-growing - itā€™s literally become my life! It all started when I, Alex, was studying to be a scientist, back in my Derbyshire days. We were supporting charity in the university ballet club and - oh the joy! - I slipped into the most delightful pink tulle, the one that changed my life. Now, by day Iā€™m a scientist, by night I sparkle. I have found a way to blend both.

Rainham has been calling my name, and I've answered with my Tutu-licious outfit - the one that sends all the children running in squeals of delight and sends the grown-upā€™s imaginations soaring! Oh the places my Tutu has taken me: The Isle of Man, Brighton, Belfastā€¦ Rainham here we come!

As a performer who travels the land to inspire, entertain, and most importantly, sparkle! - Iā€™m never going to say no to an adventure, especially in a beautiful, classic train carriage. It's a romantic way to travel and itā€™s one that's right up my, er, tutu. You see, even with my mad passion for tutus, there are certain rules for a queen like me - never take to the road in an automobile. Tutus arenā€™t as great with wheels as they are with carriage wheels, or - for an even better time - with horseshoes. Yes, when I need a speed boost - I go full equestrian. It's the best! The rhythm of the trotā€¦ the beauty of a horse with that gleam in its eyes - they get my spark and we are off with the wind in our mane, in the land of glitter and fun!

Well, this trip is a tad more humdrum ā€“ a train for the Rainham destination. A journey that took us right to the very edge of my imagination (it is close to the edge, even a sparkly girl gets a bit tired from time to time) ā€¦ but you should see the venue, just gorgeous, all bright pink and sparkles, it reminded me of the latest Valentino - perfect for me. They just seemed to get me.

This town in Kent has it all, it seems: beauty, and an audience eager to get in touch with the girly girl inside them all - even the tough looking blokes in their leather jackets! And the girls! I loved the fact they loved it when my Tutu caught the light in all its girly glory and how their eyes followed each twirl and pirouette - It's truly inspiring. There is no denying the magic that can be found in a swirling circle of tulle.

And I can honestly tell you - as the queen of pink that this venue made me want to twirl till dawn, they really knew their audience, as did the organisers. What a wonderful and inspiring night it was! We really got the giggles going. And my fellow performers? - oh so fabulous, dressed in gorgeous costumes. There were two ballerinas, some street dancers - some boys even wearing pink! And some great singing performers! The music was so well chosen! I loved the fact we all had that ā€œcome together, letā€™s put on a show!ā€ attitude - I must find those people and tell them what an inspiration they are!

Rainham, what can I say? - This performance reminded me why I do this! The way the children laughed when they saw my tulle skirts and the way that men even had a chance to look, gasp and even get out their wallets! Yes, we do help those lovely souls! The show was fun and friendly, there were lots of jokes about tutus and of course, a whole load of glitter and sparkle. This trip will have a special place in my heart, Rainham - it has been a real treat! And you never knowā€¦I might even go on the back of the town bus just to twirl past those who were unable to make it to the show! Now that's what I call making everyone tutu-licious!

Until next time, loveliesā€¦
