Hello, lovelies! It's your #TutuQueen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, back from a whirl-wind trip to the charming seaside town of Deal, in Kent. Oh, the joys of the train journey! It really set the stage for a fantastic time. I even had a fab window seat, allowing me to people-watch to my heart's content. You know how much I love to find inspiration from everyday people - the vibrant patterns on a granny's shopping bag, the bold floral print of a teenager's scarf... you never know what fashion inspiration awaits!
Deal itself was a vision in pink. The pastel-coloured houses lining the quaint streets, the fluffy cotton candy clouds reflecting off the calm sea, the cherry blossoms adorning the seaside cafes... well, you get the picture. My senses were totally overloaded in the most beautiful way possible.
Finding my inner sparkle
As always, I couldn't resist dipping my toes (literally) into the ocean! The crisp, fresh air invigorated me. Then I made my way to Deal Castle, which transported me back to Tudor times. Such history, darling! My mind was buzzing with all the possibilities for my next tutu creation. Perhaps a medieval style? Or a regal Elizabethan court tutu? It was like the universe itself was inspiring me!
I even stumbled across a cute little independent shop overflowing with vintage treasures. Naturally, I had to unleash my inner magpie. A beautiful velvet shawl, a feather boa (oh, so very divine), and a little pink teacup - a perfect souvenir for my tea parties! You see, I love to make the world a little bit more glamorous and joyful, and what better way to do that than by sharing my tea and treats with friends?
Taking the stage in Deal
My main event in Deal was a fantastic gig at the local fair. The crowd was so enthusiastic! My dance routine with the swirling, sparkling pink tutu was a huge hit, and the children were completely smitten. (You see, I do have a soft spot for the younger generation, those sweet little souls. I think we all need a little extra sparkle in our lives, don't you agree?)
Speaking of sparkle, my costume for the night was a real show-stopper! Think shimmering sequins, plumes of tulle, a glitzy crown, and the most fabulous pair of sparkly high heels. This look wasn't about loud and raucous, no no no. It was a whisper of fantasy, a dream-like vision, a fairytale come to life. My signature style, with a twist. After all, a little whimsy never hurt anyone, right?
Back to the Real World (but not for long!)
Of course, every adventure has to come to an end. Back in my "normal life," I'm Alex, the scientist who lives in the lab and tests fabrics for durability. Don't be fooled by my practical work environment. I never lose my pink-tinted outlook on life. The vibrant hues and silky textures inspire me in my day job. You never know when a new idea for a tutu will strike!
Right now, though, my heart is yearning for more travel. Next stop, Brighton! 🚄✨ You know I'm dreaming of a beautiful seaside performance, perhaps with the iconic Palace Pier as a backdrop. I'll be sharing my journey, my new designs, and all the colourful fun here on pink-tutu.com.
