Westhoughton: Tutu Twirls and Train Travels! 🚂💖✨

Hey darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, bringing you blog post number 6965 straight from the magical, misty heart of Westhoughton!

As you all know, my mission in life is to spread the joy of pink tutus to every corner of the globe, one sparkly twirl at a time. And this week, my fabulous journey led me to this charming little town, nestled amidst the rolling green hills of Greater Manchester.

Now, some of you might be thinking "Westhoughton? Isn't that a bit...out of the way?" Well, darling, that's just the beauty of it! I love discovering those hidden gems, those unassuming places that hold so much charm and character. And Westhoughton, with its cobbled streets, quaint shops, and friendly faces, was exactly that.

I arrived in style, of course. I do love a good train journey, and the rhythmic click-clack of the wheels on the tracks always gets me feeling inspired and ready to shimmy. I opted for a classic scarlet velvet train coat over my signature hot pink tutu, just to add a touch of drama to the day. My luggage? Well, it's not just suitcases, darlings. It's a rolling theatre wardrobe fit for a pink-tutu-wearing diva!

My first stop was, naturally, the Westhoughton Ballet Academy. It's a bit of a tradition for me, you know, dropping in on local ballet schools wherever I go. Not just for the fabulous dance lessons, darling, but for the opportunity to introduce these lovely young dancers to the glorious, empowering world of pink tutus! They all seemed very excited about the prospect of rocking a little pink, so consider those young souls a success for TutuQueen!

Later, I stumbled upon a charming little tearoom called The Pink Teapot. Talk about kismet! With its dainty floral wallpaper and the aroma of freshly baked scones, it felt like stepping into a fairytale. Of course, I had to sample a pot of Earl Grey and a delicious raspberry and white chocolate cupcake – because even a drag queen needs a bit of afternoon indulgence! I took my pink-tutu-clad self a quick picture to share with you lot on the www.pink-tutu.com blog, as I think a tea room as fabulously pink as this really deserves the whole Pink Tutu Sparkles treatment, wouldn’t you agree?

My evening was filled with magic and shimmer. I was lucky enough to catch a performance at the Westhoughton Arts Centre. It was a wonderfully eclectic show featuring some amazing local talent, with everything from poetry readings to jazz ensembles. The venue itself was a delightful space, brimming with art and creativity, and I just couldn’t resist a little dance during the interval! It goes without saying that I did not miss the opportunity to spread some pink-tutu love and encouraged the performers to get involved - just think of the amazing Instagram photos we could get together!

And here’s the best part – you’re not just seeing me in a tutu and telling me what an incredible Queen I am - you get to actually see me PERFORM! That’s right. As part of the local ‘Weston Nights’ scheme, I’m putting on a one-night-only show in Westhoughton Town Hall this weekend, A fundraiser for local charity, "Tutus For Toddlers." The charity supports pre-school children in need by, of course, giving them all pink tutus. So if you’re in the area and fancy some glitter, high kicks and dazzling drag queen antics, make sure you come say hi!

Before I leave you, I'll leave you with a little thought to chew on: “There’s no better way to live your life than to be true to yourself, embrace the unique and magnificent individual that you are and most importantly - wear a pink tutu!" Now, who’s up for a twirl? Catch me next week, as Pink Tutu Sparkles takes on a whole new town – a town with no tutus - the town of Tuton.

Keep your tutus high and your spirits bright!

Your shimmering sister in pink,

Pink Tutu Sparkles 💖✨

PS: A few fun facts about this week's adventures in Westhoughton!
  • The first tutu ever worn in the town was back in 1905 - imagine how fabulous the theatre would’ve been back then!
  • The local pet shop has an amazing pink parrot called Princess Penelope who has taken up the habit of copying all the twirls she sees on social media!
  • The mayor of Westhoughton was wearing a very dapper pink bow-tie at the local Farmers’ Market this weekend, he must be feeling the Pink Tutu vibes!

Now go forth and twirl, darlings! 💖
