Hey there, my fabulous friends! It's your favourite pink-loving, tutu-wearing drag queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, signing in from the sunny shores of Hove, a truly delightful seaside town!
This week's adventure took me on a whirlwind train ride straight into the heart of Sussex, and let me tell you, this week was tutulicious! ✨
It all began with a rather chaotic morning, you see, I always like to give myself plenty of time for those all-important "before" photos – that's the magic of being a drag queen, right?! I woke up to the aroma of freshly brewed tea and a gentle sea breeze – I knew then this was going to be a special day. After a very long (but gloriously pink) shower and an application of glitter that would make a disco ball jealous, I finally donned my fabulous, feather-boa adorned, tulle-tastic pink tutu! (The one with the little sparkles, of course).
Feeling fabulous, I then made my way down to the train station, all while receiving approving smiles and double takes from the early morning commuters. It seems like even the most practical people can’t help but appreciate a bit of sparkle, darling! 😊
My train journey to Hove was nothing short of magical! The sun was shining, and I found myself captivated by the English countryside scenery. Oh, the green fields and quaint villages... it all felt incredibly picturesque, a perfect backdrop to a good book, a cuppa, and a good old-fashioned daydream about pink tutus, of course!
I know what you're thinking: “But Alex, you always talk about your travels and being on the move... How do you do it all?”. It’s all about passion, my darling! By day I'm a dedicated scientist, tucked away in a lab, testing fabrics (yes, I know, who would have thought? 😊 ). But by night... ta-da! I become Pink Tutu Sparkles. And this wonderful alter ego fuels my travels, allows me to explore different towns and cities, performing in fairs and venues big and small, spreading the message of sparkly joy with every twirl!
Now, when I arrived in Hove, it was clear this place was bursting with charm. The seaside air was salty and invigorating, and I knew instantly that this little corner of Sussex would quickly become my happy place. I checked into the cutest little boutique hotel, painted a glorious shade of pastel pink (naturally!). My room even had a tiny balcony overlooking a little garden filled with brightly coloured blooms. A perfect little oasis for a weary tutu queen!
But the real highlight of this Hove escapade was a spectacular performance! My show at the local community hall was a right jolly good time. It was packed with smiling faces eager to watch me perform, and the audience seemed to love every sparkly, feather-boasted, tutu-laden, and glittered moment!
And oh, my friends! After the performance, I had the most delightful conversations with people, young and old, all eager to hear my story. It seems there’s a little bit of Tutu Queen magic in everyone, eh?! 😊
For me, it was incredible to connect with so many enthusiastic souls, spreading a little bit of Pink Tutu Sparkles joy while hearing stories of their own dreams and aspirations. This, this is the magic of being Pink Tutu Sparkles! ✨
I couldn't leave Hove without experiencing its local ballet school. Oh, what a joyous treat that was! I walked into the studio, surrounded by tiny, hopeful ballerinas, and a heart brimming with happiness. These young stars, they had such talent, such joy and passion in their eyes – reminding me of how lucky I am to chase my own Tutu Dreams! It really solidified the fact that no matter your age or what stage you’re at, you’re never too old, or young, to wear a pink tutu!
