Finchley, Oh Finchley! 🩰

Hello, my darlings! It's your favourite Pink Tutu Sparkles, back again for post number 7063, live from the fabulous Finchley! I know what you're thinking, "Finchley?" you might ask. But trust me, my lovelies, this little corner of North London is bursting with sparkling magic and it's about to be infused with a generous helping of pink tutu fabulousness.

I'm going to be completely honest: travelling to Finchley wasn't on my agenda this week. I'd booked myself a nice little trip to the Brighton seaside to strut my stuff on the promenade, soaking up the salty air and the seaside vibes. But life, as always, threw a bit of a curveball - a fabulous curveball, naturally.

So, how did a pink tutu find itself on a stage in Finchley? Well, you see, my lovelies, it was a combination of serendipitous fate, a friendly fairy godmother, and a very tempting offer. Imagine this: A beautifully illustrated postcard in my inbox, dripping with glitter and proclaiming "Pink Tutu Sparkles: come shine in Finchley!" You know me, I can't resist a glittery invitation. Plus, my travel expenses were being fully covered and I could perform my entire set. So, here I am, ready to dazzle the lovely people of Finchley, in my most extravagant tutu yet, a pink confection that would make even the Queen jealous!

Now, Finchley. I don't want to reveal any spoilers, so I won't go into the nitty gritty details of the venue or the event itself. But let's just say, it was the kind of setting where the sound of "Mamma Mia" was never too far away. My arrival caused a ripple of excitement, I could almost see the people in the crowd, whispering amongst themselves, "Isn't that...? Oh my gosh, it's her!"

You see, darling, it's more than just putting on a sparkly pink tutu and sashay-ing across the stage. It's about the connection. It's about creating an experience for those watching, a moment where they can be transported to another world. This wasn't just about a drag act in Finchley; it was about bringing a little bit of Pink Tutu Sparkles magic to this lovely little corner of North London.

And the energy was electrifying. This crowd loved it all! My dance moves were a hit, my sassy banter had them laughing, and they adored my choice of pink. I swear, there were little girls in the front row waving their little pink tutu skirts around, beaming with delight! Honestly, this is what I live for, this is what it's all about. Seeing smiles, seeing happiness, knowing that Pink Tutu Sparkles is spreading a bit of glitter and joy wherever I go.

I had to share a quick outfit moment with you, darlings! Picture this: My "finest hour" was a gorgeous vintage-style dress, it was all tulle and lace, in the most vibrant pink, with delicate sequined detail - and of course, it had pockets! I paired it with an exquisitely crafted feather boa, a feather headdress with delicate pink orchids, and a sparkly pair of pink pumps with bows. I am living for this new feather accessory craze. Honestly, who wouldn't be?!

After the performance, we headed to a charming pub, for some good old British hospitality and a quick catch-up with the locals. My heart was so full! I must admit, these delightful Finchley folks made me feel right at home, as comfortable as if I was having afternoon tea at my Nana's house. I felt like the community had fully embraced the pink tutu and all its delightful glitter!

Now, onto the adventures. Of course, no journey to Finchley would be complete without some serious retail therapy. I did, however, leave a fair bit of sparkle and glitz behind. I went slightly off the beaten track - the Finchley branch of [Insert name of large, chain retail store], a lovely store with an exceptional pink section (imagine!). While, as a scientist I normally spend my day in the lab testing fabric quality - well this afternoon I went full "Fashion Detective." The pink colour pallet had so many options, I had to narrow down the selection! After trying on (oh darling, you know the drill! It's hard to get me out of a changing room, the fun is getting me in one), and spending an embarrassingly long time contemplating which garment would best become mine (which is my real job when testing new fabric types, honestly), I finally settled on a darling little skirt for a later date. I'm planning on wearing it for a performance I've got booked later this week, it will make an amazing costume.

You see, my darlings, it’s more than just a pink tutu and sparkly costumes for me. It’s a philosophy. It’s about being yourself, owning your uniqueness, spreading joy, and finding magic in every corner of the world. It's about wearing a tutu so sparkly that you make everyone else's hearts shimmer a little bit brighter.

Now, as I sit here in my little London hotel, writing this, with my pink nightdress on, I feel this powerful sense of gratitude. Thank you, dear Finchley, for welcoming me with open arms and filling my heart with so much love! The pink tutu is taking over the world, one glittering performance at a time.

Join me on this fabulous adventure as we keep spreading joy! Head over to my website, www.pink-tutu.com, where we can discuss all things pink, glitter, and rainbows!

Stay fabulous, darlings!

Yours truly,

Pink Tutu Sparkles. πŸ’–
