Ruislip Calling! Pink Tutu Sparkles Goes for a Gallop 💅🩰👑

Hey, sugarplum! 🍭 It’s your girl, Pink Tutu Sparkles, here with my seventhousandandeightyfifth (that’s 7085, in case you were wondering, honey!), sparkly and sensational blog post, and let me tell you, I am thrilled to be sharing my adventures in the charming town of Ruislip.

Now, for the real fashionistas out there (I’m talking you, my darling Tutu Troopers), you already know the rule: pink is the colour of pure joy, tutus are the ultimate expression of whimsy, and anything involving a train or a horse – well, that’s just divine. So naturally, when a chance popped up to do a drag performance at Ruislip’s famous annual ‘Horses and Hogs’ festival, my darling tutu-clad heart went pitter-patter.

Honestly, folks, finding a perfect opportunity to wear my best pink tutus (you know I've got an extensive collection!), be surrounded by all things horsey, and maybe even sample some of that delicious pulled pork – well, it was simply fate! 💖

As a true drag artist, I'm all about making a grand entrance, and I knew travelling in style was key to this adventure. Now, a drag queen's gotta make an impression, and I’d decided long ago that trains are utterly my favourite mode of transport. Think of the glamour, the romantic atmosphere, and the endless opportunities for a little sassy self-expression!

Imagine this: Me, dressed to the nines (in pink, of course!), strutting through the carriages with my sparkly luggage, a massive pink boa trailing behind me like a cloud of pink magic, while some charming old chap with a monocle admires me with a raised eyebrow, giggling with his lovely wife! 😂 Honestly, it doesn’t get any better.

But Ruislip was a bit too far for a good train journey, so after a brief deliberation with my sparkly posse (it’s a lot harder to make a grand entrance at a train station than on the actual train!), we decided to take a…horseback ride! 🐎

This was such a dream come true for me, I must tell you. I mean, let's be real, who wouldn’t love a majestic, shimmering steed with flowing mane?

Naturally, I'd ensured my steed was properly accessorized for the journey: a pink saddle, sparkly reins, and a custom-made fluffy saddle blanket featuring the image of a flamboyant pink flamingo. 😉 I might even have convinced him to sport a tiny pink bow on his tail, purely for fashion's sake, of course! (I’m very good at persuasive grooming – I know all the best tricks! 🤫)

Now, I know what you’re thinking: How does one ride a horse to Ruislip, a dear friend? Well, I wasn’t actually planning to ride it all the way, of course. The whole thing was more a theatrical expression of a Pink Tutu Sparkles travelling style than a true journey – that’s how my drag brain works, babes! It's a journey, it's an experience, and above all, it's pure fun! 😜

However, the good old fashioning transport mode had it's merits for showmanship, that's for sure, and with a little sprinkle of 'Pink Tutu Sparkles magic' (which always involves a LOT of glittery sparkles, trust me!), we ended up making our grand arrival to the "Horses and Hogs" festival on a real-life, shimmering pink unicorn! 🦄

Well, not exactly real, but a unicorn shaped balloon, which the amazing and friendly Ruislip team totally indulged me on and tied to my fabulous steed – you should’ve seen the looks of astonishment on people’s faces as we arrived! 😲

They thought that was exciting, though! Let me tell you, when I started my performance on the little makeshift stage (I insisted on the stage being a lovely pink podium draped with pink, shimmering material), with the local fire crew providing a dazzling ‘water ballet’ alongside me – with me twirling, kicking and showing them all just what pink power could really do! - the crowd was beside themselves with joy! 🙌

From dazzling everyone with my performance and dazzling costumes (Pink Tutu Sparkles loves a change of wardrobe, darlings, you know!) to getting everyone laughing with my silly jokes (and my secret talent - I can play ‘Pink Flamingo' on the xylophone - you heard right!) , Ruislip truly loved Pink Tutu Sparkles and it showed!

It wasn't all glamorous, mind you! I actually found myself in very sticky situation towards the end of the day – we all had to flee the festival immediately, and I mean immediately, when we discovered we’d triggered a gigantic dust storm just by sitting on the grand stand! 😳

Yes, my darlings, even the most experienced Pink Tutu Sparkles (especially when she's been performing all day and indulging in several helpings of delicious hog roast), isn't always aware of their power - I really wasn’t expecting this outcome! 🤣

Let's just say that being in the middle of that raging pink dust storm (a storm I practically created myself! 😅) was not a pleasant experience (I couldn’t find my wig - that’s a disaster on any given day for any drag artist!), but what made the day so much more delightful, was that, in my time of crisis, every single soul in the festival (apart from some totally unimpressed piglets), immediately got on their feet, in perfect harmony and grace, and started chanting "Pink Tutu Sparkles" and "It’s her power, It’s her power".

There's truly no better feeling in the world than knowing you’ve completely captured a crowd's hearts and left a pink, sparkly impression in the world (I may even have made my way into everyone's phone cameras for the whole weekend). 🙏

So, from the sparkly heart of a fabulously fashionable drag artist, remember that, darling, every day's a chance to be bold and flamboyant, a chance to live life with your very own sparkle. Who knows where this magical ride called life will take us? We could be anywhere, be anything! 😉 Just remember: Life's so much better when we choose to live it in a pink tutu. And as the amazing Pink Tutu Sparkles always says: “The more, the merrier, darling!" 💗

💖💋💅🏼 Until next time, don’t forget to shine bright, stay fabulous, and let your love of life sparkle in all its fabulous glory. 💗 💖💋💅🏼

Stay fabulous! ✨💖
