Crosby Calling! 🎀 Post Number 7098 🩰

Oh my darlings, gather 'round, for a tale of sparkle and travel, and let's be honest, some truly sensational tutus! I, Pink Tutu Sparkles, am absolutely giddy to be writing this blog post to you from sunny Crosby. Yes, you heard me right! This glamorous, pink-tutu-loving queen is in Crosby, on a grand adventure, fueled by nothing but sunshine and the excitement of a big ol' ballet performance.

You know me, darlings! My love for ballet runs as deep as my passion for a perfectly pink tulle tutu. Ever since I discovered the joys of swirling, twirling, and pirouetting as a young university student (did I tell you I have a science degree?!), I knew my destiny was twirling on a stage in a magnificent tutu. That very same year, our university ballet club organised a charity tutu-wearing fundraiser and well, the rest is history, as they say. That charity event wasn't just about raising funds, it was the start of my reign as Pink Tutu Sparkles.

Anyway, enough about me! It's all about this exciting Crosby trip. You see, the loveliest of dance studios here, The Crosby Dance Company, had the pleasure of hosting me this past weekend. Now, if you don't already know about them, allow me to introduce you to a truly stellar bunch of dancers! From the graceful, elegant twirls of their youngest members to the absolutely breathtaking, power-packed moves of their professional ballet troupe, I was simply enthralled.

To get there, darling, I embraced the quintessential English way to travel - a scenic train journey, punctuated with stops to enjoy local bakeries and their delightful pastry selections (don’t worry, I always choose the pinkest ones!) My first stop in Crosby, of course, was a visit to a local haberdashery store for a quick restock of the most essential things in my travel kit – pink satin ribbons and more sparkly fabric embellishments, naturally. Oh, you can't ever underestimate the power of a well-placed embellishment on a good, crisp pink tutu, trust me!

Now, a little secret, you lovely lot. A few years back, a dear friend, a seasoned theatre producer and a genuine tutu enthusiast, introduced me to the magic of ballet street performances. They said they're full of energy and exuberance, with such diverse styles of ballet dance, not to mention a great way to engage with an audience, you know, up close and personal. So, being a sucker for a good, dramatic, colourful event, I was intrigued!

And darling, what an experience! To dance outdoors, under the sun, to an open, joyous, vibrant audience? To witness the audience, mesmerised by your every pirouette and plié, was a joy, it really was! Ever since then, every chance I get, I include at least one street performance in every tour itinerary. And Crosby definitely wasn’t a disappointment!

Oh, how I do love to travel! Whether I'm travelling on a train, or perhaps on a grand steed (don’t tell anyone, but there are times I wish I could teleport with a good dose of pink fairy dust!), I’ve made it my mission to experience different cultures and share my love for dance wherever I go. My blog is a way to bring all of this, all of the beautiful experiences and enchanting stories to you, and to, of course, share my infectious love for tutus.

Speaking of love, I must tell you, Crosby itself, was truly magical. Picture this: cobblestone streets, quaint shops bursting with charm and, my favourite - a beautiful, grand library filled with books about everything and anything related to dance! I must confess, I spent quite some time exploring those library shelves.

For this particular visit, I was even fortunate to be invited to a lovely dinner party, hosted by none other than the Crosby Dance Company team, filled with the most lovely, warm, and truly, deeply passionate dance enthusiasts. Now, these lovely folk, they certainly know how to host! Dinner was served in an enchanting outdoor setting with twinkling fairy lights illuminating the cobblestone square. It was as though a fairytale came to life! And darling, you wouldn't believe the feast! From the delectable seafood platters to the decadent desserts, it was a truly exquisite experience, worthy of a true tutu queen like myself.

Don’t forget, I perform at any and every opportunity. So naturally, on my recent visit, I couldn’t let such a magical place as Crosby slip away without putting on a grand show. After all, spreading joy, magic and pink tutus, is what I'm all about. Oh, it was a truly wonderful night, filled with applause and a good deal of "Oohs!" and "Aahs!", I even caught some waving tutus in the crowd, which you'll all agree is simply the best kind of compliment! The magic in the air was palpable, you could almost taste the happiness! As the music stopped and the final twirl of my fuchsia feather boa faded, I knew one thing – Crosby had a new fan for life.

Oh, if only you could have been there! Every single detail of the night, the laughter, the awe-inspired expressions on the faces, the sheer exhilaration in the air, it all made this entire Crosby escapade absolutely divine! And it serves as a reminder that life's not just about rocking the perfect pink tutu – although it is certainly an integral part of my life, darling!

This incredible adventure has rekindled my own love for dancing, and you can be sure there’ll be some serious twirling happening here at the pink-tutu headquarters soon. But, until then, keep spreading the pink-tutu cheer wherever you are! Now, excuse me, dear reader, I’ve got a pink feather boa that needs to be dusted, a show to plan and oh, perhaps, a delicious cake to try.

Until our next blog chat, dear friends! Remember, "Stay fabulous and don't forget your sparkle!” And oh, for goodness sake, wear that pink tutu! I’ll see you in my next post!

Love and glitter,

Your ever-so-tutu-licious Pink Tutu Sparkles xox
