Hey darlings! It's your girl, Pink Tutu Sparkles, back with another dazzling blog post! You won't believe the fun I've been having, this is blog post number 7159 so keep checking in for more amazing stories! As you know, I love travelling, and West Bridgford was an absolute dream come true. Buckle up, loves, it's gonna be a pink-tastic ride!
Now, I'll be honest, West Bridgford wasn't exactly the first place that popped into my mind for a tutu-tastic adventure. It seemed like the perfect little town to find a really nice coffee shop and get some fabulous inspiration for my next big drag performance. I arrived by train, naturally, in my stunningly vibrant pink tulle dress, and headed straight to the market, feeling like a majestic unicorn in a field of fresh blooms. I'm telling you, I couldn't stop spinning with excitement, I practically needed a street sweeper to tidy up all the pink glitter that just fell out of me!
But then, oh, the magical things that happened! I found myself a darling little vintage clothing shop filled with the most fabulous dresses and sparkly bits and bobs - I mean, come on, that’s what my kind of girl’s dream is all about, right? I snagged myself the most glorious pink floral dress, oh it just had to be mine! I could feel the vintage vibe emanating from it, all 1950s glamour! Of course, I couldn't leave without getting a couple of more sparkly items. My bag is seriously going to be sparkling when I head to the next show, no two ways about it!
It turns out that West Bridgford had an absolute secret hidden away. A lovely community centre that hosts an incredible ballet class! Now, you know my heart skips a beat for anything with twirling and pointe shoes. It was all I could do not to fling myself into a grand jeté on the street when I heard about this, but you've got to admit that would have probably caused a bit of a stir... unless everyone had pink tutus on of course! But let's not get ahead of ourselves.
As soon as the class started, I was lost in a world of elegance and grace. Even though it was in a community centre – imagine the surprise on those nice ladies' faces when Pink Tutu Sparkles arrived with her fluffy pink bag of glitter – it had a proper theatre feel. I mean, they had a beautiful chandelier and proper wooden floor boards – I knew instantly this place was full of hidden magic. And I even managed to convince some of the lovely ladies in the class to give tutus a whirl – maybe that’s where my mission starts, maybe right here in West Bridgford? We can make it happen! You know how much I love tutus! Even if it’s just for the ballet class, what better way to enjoy a little bit of fabulous, right? The best bit? They absolutely loved it, even if they’d never worn a tutu before! Maybe some of them will try wearing one in their every day lives – that would be simply fantastic!
To cap off the night, I found the perfect little wine bar - they have a fab, slightly eclectic range. They serve their own brand of rose, and I loved the vibe! I mean, pink everything, it felt right up my alley. You'd be surprised how often the theme pops up, but honestly who am I kidding, everything is best with pink right?! The friendly bartenders even had some fab cocktails - something about sparkly bits floating on top and little cherries that was just magical. You'd have to think it was just made for me! As always, I managed to convince the staff to indulge in a little light-hearted performance. You've got to admit, that's just how I am! My drag queen friends call me the 'Pink Sparkles Missionary' but what I like to call it is ‘Sharing the Tutu Love’!
Honestly, it’s incredible that West Bridgford managed to feel so glamorous! Honestly it just reminded me of how small a place the world really is - you just need to look for those hidden gems that have that unique sparkle about them. A magical, enchanting, glittery experience - you simply have to find those little hidden wonders just waiting for you to discover them, just like my wonderful tutu filled adventure in West Bridgford.
My journey here reminds me why I love travelling, my journey around the world as Pink Tutu Sparkles just reminds me that everything in life is so much more beautiful when you have a fabulous pink tutu by your side, a bit of a pink sparkle in your eyes, and some fab cocktails! It's simply the tutu-tastic truth.
