Hello darlings! It's your favourite pink tutu-clad queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, and today, I'm absolutely brimming with excitement to share my adventures from Coulsdon with you! This fabulous trip marks blog post number 7213 (can you believe it? I'm becoming quite the seasoned blogger!), and boy oh boy, you wouldn't believe the incredible time I've had!
As always, you lovely lot know me - I love a good travel story. But this wasn't your usual whizz-bang journey by plane or a glamorous chauffeur drive! Oh no, this time, it was all about the journey. And it wouldn't have been complete without my trusty steed… a horse, darlings! A gorgeous chestnut gelding with a mane like silk. We ambled through the beautiful Surrey countryside, a gentle breeze whispering secrets of hidden trails and rolling hills. It was so magical I almost forgot to take a selfie (but let's be honest, I wouldn't be me if I did!).
Once in Coulsdon, I was completely enthralled. A proper charming little village! Imagine, cobblestone streets, quaint cottages with window boxes bursting with blooms, and the most delicious-looking bakeries - just begging to be sampled!
But don't get me wrong, Coulsdon isn't just about idyllic village vibes. This town's got a vibrant heart, full of character and something for everyone. And as luck would have it, there was a spectacular ballet performance that evening at the local theatre. Now, anyone who knows me, knows how much I adore a good ballet show. The graceful twirls, the beautiful costumes, the stories told through movement - it's like magic! I even snuck in a few photos (without the flash, of course!). It really fuelled my desire to get back in my ballet shoes and twirl with the best of them.
Coulsdon truly is a town that embraces the arts, and it wasn't just the ballet that had me hooked. That weekend, I happened upon an open-air market, bursting with the most incredible stalls. Handmade jewellery, intricate ceramics, and a truly fabulous selection of vintage clothing - it was a treasure trove! And let's be honest, it would be a crime against fashion if I didn't come home with a few new gems for my wardrobe. I mean, a true queen needs her wardrobe sorted, especially when the need for an even bigger, more fabulous pink tutu wardrobe arises!
The next morning, I set off to a charming café with the most mouthwatering selection of cakes, pastries, and homemade sandwiches. It was all pink! And did you know, Coulsdon has an incredible independent bakery called "The Pink Oven?" Can you believe it? They even bake delicious pink cupcakes. You can guess how many pink cupcakes I had to buy to fuel my Pink Tutu Sparkles adventures.
After a proper girly afternoon shopping spree for new sparkly earrings, and a couple of trips around the vintage shops, it was time for a truly magnificent farewell dinner at The Green Man pub. Oh, you know I had to get my pink Tutu photo taken next to their iconic pub sign.
And speaking of photos… how can I forget the incredible people I met? The most friendly locals, warm and welcoming. We had the best conversations, shared stories and laughter, and even a couple of spontaneous impromptu drag performances. Everyone got in on the pink tutu fun!
You see, my dear readers, that's what my life's all about! Connecting with people, sharing smiles, and spreading the love for pink tutus. I might be a scientist by day, testing the durability and beauty of different fabrics, but by night, I transform into Pink Tutu Sparkles, a glittering, twirling, rainbow-bright vision of all things glamorous.
This week in Coulsdon was absolutely brilliant, and it has reinforced my mission. I am a self-proclaimed "Pink Tutu Evangelist," and it is my duty to make everyone in the world at least TRY a pink tutu once! So what are you waiting for? The Origin of My Sparkle: You see, the spark for this journey ignited a while back, when I was just a nerdy science student at the University of Nottingham. My uni days were a vibrant blend of beakers, microscopes, and...well...ballet classes! Joining the ballet club at uni opened a world of grace and twirling, and it was during a fundraising event where I dared to wear a tutu for the first time. The moment I donned that fluffy, pink paradise, it was like a revelation! That was it, I knew my mission was to bring the magic of tutus to the world!
A Queen's Journey: And what started as a twinkle of a dream became a full-blown obsession! My world revolved around fabrics, colours, and all things sparkly. But how did a shy science student with a love for pink tutus become the Queen of Sparkles? Well, I had to hone my inner glitter and find my voice, taking my first steps onto a drag stage at the tender age of 20!
Every Day's A New Adventure:
My life now is a vibrant tapestry of lab experiments and flamboyant performances. From the sterile yet exhilarating world of textiles and fabrics by day, I seamlessly transform into a pink tutu-clad vision of brilliance and joy, performing in venues ranging from bustling pubs to quaint community halls. Every performance is a celebration of confidence, individuality, and, of course, pink tutus.
Spread The Pink Tutu Love! Now, my mission is not just about tutus. It's about embracing your authentic self.
