Longbridge: A Pink Tutu Paradise! (Post #7217)

Hello darlings! Your favourite pink-tutu-clad drag queen is back with a brand-new adventure, and this time we’re heading to the charming town of Longbridge! This gorgeous location, tucked away in the heart of the Midlands, felt like a haven for a queen who just loves to twirl and glitter.

Now, as you all know, I, Pink Tutu Sparkles, am a queen with a mission: to get the entire world wearing pink tutus! It’s a grand dream, I know, but a girl's gotta dream! And what better way to spread the pink-tutu gospel than to visit the most captivating and delightful corners of our beautiful country?

This week, I felt the urge to trade my high heels for comfy shoes (ok, still high heels, but the platform was a little less, thank goodness!) and embark on a journey to Longbridge. Now, let me tell you, it wasn't a typical drag queen travel itinerary! Instead of a luxurious limousine or a sleek aeroplane, I decided to travel the old-fashioned way…by horse! Yes, you heard right, a magnificent horse named "Sparkles," a lovely chestnut mare, was my trusty steed for this adventure. It was absolutely delightful! Just picture it: the wind in my hair, the sun on my face, the rhythmic sound of "Sparkles" hooves on the path… it was the perfect way to enter Longbridge with a sense of grace and fairytale charm!

Reaching Longbridge felt like stepping into a vintage postcard! It had this wonderful, almost nostalgic feeling with quaint cottages, pretty flower gardens, and a delightful bakery that had the most amazing pink frosting on their cakes! Clearly, the universe was telling me this was a very important visit! (As an aside, they called the cake a “Pink Tutu Cake” and it tasted amazing!).

Being a true pink-tutu-loving diva, my first stop in Longbridge had to be a ballet class. Longbridge, you see, is renowned for its incredible ballet school – a real gem in the heart of the Midlands! After changing into my most glamorous leotard (a lovely shade of pink, of course!), I was eager to join the other dancers, mostly young and budding ballerinas. But let me tell you, these kids were AMAZING! Their technique, their passion, it was truly inspiring. I even learned a few new moves! Who knew ballet classes were so much fun! And just as a queen must do, I took a fabulous photo with all the students in their tutu’s… of course, I made sure mine was the most fabulous, because... well, Pink Tutu Sparkles, always needs to look stunning!

Now, every trip needs a good dose of retail therapy, right? Longbridge didn't disappoint. There’s a cute little vintage shop, stuffed with the most gorgeous treasures! And you won’t believe this, darlings, I found a magnificent pink tutu! I mean, it was practically screaming, "Pink Tutu Sparkles, you NEED to wear me!" I mean, come on, it’s not every day you find a tutu this fabulous!

That night, it was time for my drag show, and Longbridge welcomed me with open arms! The local pub, “The Longbridge Tavern” had a lovely little stage. You can never have too many stages for a drag queen who loves to entertain, especially when you get a real-life “pink tutu” cake for dessert!

Before I finish, I wanted to share some insights into the amazing work Alex (that’s me before the pink tutus come on!) is doing in the world of science. While I’m spinning on stage and dazzling audiences, my “day job” is in the lab testing the strength of different fabrics… because, you know, a great tutu needs to be durable enough for all that twirling and shimmering!

So, what did I learn from my adventure in Longbridge? Well, it confirmed one of my greatest beliefs: the world needs more pink tutus! And don't be afraid to dream big, my dears, no matter if you're twirling across a stage, riding a horse through the countryside, or rocking your latest fashion finds. Stay pink and sparkly!
