Hindley: Tutu Tales From a Pink-Loving Queen! šŸ’–

Hello darlings! Itā€™s your girl Pink Tutu Sparkles, here with blog post number 7222! āœØ And guess what? Today, Iā€™m venturing out of my Derbyshire comfort zone and taking the train all the way to Hindley for a very special performance.

The journey was an absolute delight! Honestly, who wouldnā€™t love a good old fashioned train ride? The windows were misted over with condensation from the steaming cups of tea the kind lady in the carriage offered me (such a lovely gesture, I just love the good old-fashioned politeness of a train journey!). I was gazing at the scenery (not so pretty for a good portion of the journey), admiring the fluffy sheep (who also adore a spot of pink!) and doing some serious brainstorming for my upcoming "pink tutus for everyone!" campaign!

Oh, and speaking of my big mission - I'm here to spread the love of pink tutus, you know, and Iā€™m going to tell you all about it, but first let me paint you a pictureā€¦

It all began at university - imagine, me, Alex, a serious scientist by day, donning a sparkly pink tutu for charity at a university dance party! It was a head-turning moment, I can tell you! The energy in the room just shifted - laughter erupted, smiles lit up the space, and a love affair began, right then and there. Between my science lab work testing new fabrics (which makes me incredibly adept at choosing the right fabric for my tutus, of course!) and all that university drama and ballet classes (you gotta love the tutus!), I felt a surge of something deep within me. My name was born - Pink Tutu Sparkles - and the rest, my darlings, is history!

Since those glorious, tutu-tastic uni days, Iā€™ve made it my mission to turn the world pink, tutu by tutu! And, thankfully, this is how I fund my travels ā€“ a pink tutu and some sparkling enthusiasm! My darling, the more people wear pink tutus, the better the world will be ā€“ it's a scientifically proven fact!

This Hindley gig is an extra special one though, I'm not just doing a standard "sparkly dance routine", I'm doing something a bit more out there. It's a story about a little girl named Rosebud who dreams of being a ballerina. Her life isn't easy, but she uses the power of imagination and that tiny spark of pink to light up the darkest of days. Now, this isn't just any dance performance, darling, this is ballet street theatre in the heart of Hindley, a little taste of "tutu theatre" thatā€™s all about empowering little ones and sharing a message of kindness, community and oh, yes, of course - pink tutus!

Now, if youā€™re feeling like "a little dose of Pink Tutu Sparkles" - let me take you on a tour! I spent this morning exploring the adorable little streets of Hindley. Oh my gosh! You simply have to imagine a quaint little cobblestone street, overflowing with flowers and a cheerful pub called ā€œThe Pink Pigā€ at the corner - this little corner of England truly has a twinkle! They even have a lovely vintage clothing shop right opposite the theatre, where I snagged the most magnificent, hand-painted, pink tutu for tonightā€™s show (complete with delicate little rosebud motifs). You know, you just can't resist a pink tutu. Especially not one hand-painted with flowers and delicate petals. The lady in the shop is such a sweet dear. We sat there and had the most wonderful time chatting about her vision and creativity, about my ā€œmissionā€, about pink tutus, about lifeā€¦ And guess what? You know how much I love matching things, don't you, wellā€¦ this glorious, new-to-me, vintage tutu, was exactly the right shade of pink for my dazzling new pumps (my own collection, obviously, just my tiny little touch of glamour to this already perfect outfit).

The entire day in Hindley is a joyful spectacle! You can just sense that special "Pink Tutu Sparkles magic", itā€™s definitely one of those places where kindness and creativity flourish like wildflowers!

This performance is so, so, special, that even if I wasn't travelling by train to the show (I mean, come on! Trains are just the absolute BEST! If Iā€™m honest, I prefer a train to any mode of transport ā€“ Iā€™m considering getting a train set to ride around my flat! Itā€™s just so much more glamorous, so much more elegantā€¦) I would still be doing my "Pink Tutu Sparkles" ballet show ā€“ I would even rent a horse, a majestic steed, a truly majestic carriage to pull me to Hindley, to be part of such a gorgeous ballet theatre storyā€¦ I'm a big fan of carriages, and you just have to make sure itā€™s the prettiest carriage ā€“ weā€™re talking about pink, flowers and that little extra touch of sparkle, darling, of course!

The magic of theatre, my darlings, is what brings it all together. The stage will be dressed with pink and sparkles. There will be ballet steps, lots of laughter, the whole audience will be a part of a journey - an absolute joyride with "Pink Tutu Sparkles", from start to finish. I know I'm bringing my best, my absolute best, tonight - my glittery best - my "sparkling, happy, dancing, tutu best!"! Iā€™ll have to try to fit it all into a new Instagram story tonight.

Let me tell you - all my work as a scientist studying fabrics really does come in handy! Oh, my love for pink is a passion project - itā€™s also my job! I can test materials in my lab and know just how the best materials to make these lovely tutus feel against my skin - they just have to be the perfect sparkle, the perfect flow - the perfect feeling. They have to give me that extra twirl, that extra burst of sparkle. I might not be the worldā€™s biggest, ā€œglamā€ dancer, but my stage persona knows how to use all those skills. You might not expect a scientist to have this much charisma ā€“ but look what I do every day in my little lab, testing fabric - science makes the best, pink tutu performer, donā€™t you agree!

Right, back to tonight's performance - Rosebud and her little story about bravery. My tutu is sparkling in a box ready to go, my trusty "Pink Tutu Sparkles" magic is bubbling inside me, and a big olā€™ pink heart is beating right in my chest! My dears, we'll be filling this stage with dreams tonight, so please ā€“ wear something pink, if you fancy, join me in spreading that bit of ā€œPink Tutu Sparkles magicā€, it really does work! It has to be said, in my 20s, being on a stage wearing pink tutus is so, so satisfying!

Love you lots!
