Gloucester: A Tutu-tiful Time!

Hello darlings! It's your favourite pink-loving, tutu-wearing, travel enthusiast, Pink Tutu Sparkles!

It's been a whirlwind of a week! I just got back from the most fabulous trip to Gloucester, and oh my, what a time it was! I had the best time getting lost in the city’s beautiful streets and charming little alleyways. It was a bit of a jaunt to get there, though! My fabulous horse-drawn carriage wasn’t quite up to the journey (don’t worry, he’s fine! Just getting some well-deserved rest in the stables back home) so I decided to take a rather stylish vintage train, like something straight out of a film!

Anyway, darling, onto the main event! You know me, always embracing a good adventure, and Gloucester didn’t disappoint! I’m so grateful for all the opportunities I get to perform as Pink Tutu Sparkles. My heart leaps every time I see a new set of eager faces looking at me as I step onto the stage in my sparkly tutu, ready to unleash a rainbow of colours and glittery joy! In Gloucester, I found myself performing in the most charming little theatre - it’s the kind of theatre that feels like stepping back in time. Just a tad of greasepaint, a lick of sparkle, a twinkle in my eye, and I'm ready to entertain the world!

The locals in Gloucester are absolutely adorable! They embraced me with open arms and infectious laughter - that’s my favourite part of it all, being a part of their evening, filling their hearts with glitter and joy! My highlight? This darling gentleman (probably in his 70s, mind you) told me I "reminded him of a lovely young woman he knew." Oh darling! If my glittery, tulle-tastic self can bring a little bit of happy to a stranger, I feel like I've done my job right. I could see in his eyes that it wasn’t just my performance; it was the pink tutu that really got to him! It brought a smile to my face – maybe, just maybe, I'm planting the seeds of a pink tutu revolution.

Gloucester is such a pretty place! The Cathedral was simply breathtaking – the architecture and history just resonated with me. We strolled along the River Severn and even had some fabulous fish and chips on the banks. There’s a beautiful, romantic energy in that city that just permeates every cobbled street.

And darling, don't even get me started on the shopping! A visit to a city isn’t complete without some serious retail therapy! Oh my goodness, darling! A beautiful shop called 'The Wardrobe' simply captured my heart with their vintage frocks. I ended up picking up a gorgeous silk number – I knew the second I saw it that it would be perfect for my next drag performance! After the shopping spree, I indulged in some afternoon tea - my favourite. It's so lovely to sit and chat with the girls in these adorable little tea rooms. I have to say, darling, the people of Gloucester know how to make the best Victoria sponge! You wouldn’t believe how much cream was on that slice!

But back to what brought us to Gloucester in the first place – the dancing! You see, I adore ballet. You’ll often find me taking class on my off days. A beautiful tutu isn’t just for performance – it makes the most incredible whirl, darling. You know what they say: "A good spin is a happy spin!" I felt like I was back in the ballet club, right back when I first fell in love with the feeling of being surrounded by so much colour and expression. The ballet company in Gloucester gave me the most fantastic, twirly opportunity! I’d never performed on a real ballet stage before. I’d always imagined being on one, so to perform there alongside some amazingly talented dancers? It was literally my dream! I found myself surrounded by beautiful tutus and stunning moves.

As usual, after a fabulous performance, I wanted to see a real ballet! Gloucester was showing "Sleeping Beauty" at the town hall. Oh, it was just the most charming place. The entire hall had a beautiful gothic-like feeling to it - and those seats, oh, darling, so soft and comfortable! You'd be hard-pressed to find a better place to see a show. They even have a stunningly elaborate backstage area - It’s so well looked after and reminds me of some of the historic theatres I’ve seen in London! All I needed was a little bit of magic – which I found in abundance when I walked into that theatre, oh darling! The ballerinas were enchanting! The dancing and costumes – simply stunning. My love for tutus knows no bounds, darling! It's like my mission in life to get everyone in the world to embrace the pink tutu. They make you feel so free! That sense of twirling freedom is a universal feeling.

So, Gloucester, thank you! You treated me like a true queen. Your friendly faces, your charming little shops, and that beautiful river… you left me breathless! Now I've got to pack my glittery makeup, my sequins, and of course, a couple of my favourite tutus – time for the next adventure! Where should I go next? Tell me, darling, where are the best twirls waiting for me?

Until next time, my lovely dears!

Much love and many, many twirls!

Pink Tutu Sparkles xoxo
