Hello, my gorgeous lovelies! It's your Pink Tutu Sparkles, back with another delightful blog post, fresh from the cobblestone streets of Lyon! This fabulous city has truly stolen my heart, and not just because of the delicious cheese and pastries – although, they were definitely a huge contributing factor! Oh, but you know me, my dears, I live for the glitz, the glam, and the sheer joy of a grand adventure.
Now, darling, before I get carried away with my excitement, let's rewind a little, shall we? I flew in from London yesterday, via Eurostar, naturally. There's nothing quite like the elegance and ease of a journey by train, gliding through the picturesque countryside with a cup of tea and a good book. And yes, of course, I was decked out in full Pink Tutu Sparkles regalia, a magnificent pink tulle confection adorned with shimmering silver sequins. It turned quite a few heads, I can tell you! A little sparkle and joy goes a long way in making the world a brighter place.
Anyway, I landed in Lyon and immediately set out on a quest for the ultimate Parisian pink dress. Because darling, what's a trip to France without a few frocks? The boutiques in Lyon are divine! They have such an air of timeless elegance, brimming with exquisite silk and delicate lace. I spent hours in the heavenly shops, finding myself a delightful bubblegum pink number that's perfect for a moonlit stroll through the city. Oh, I just love how the colours of Lyon play into my pink tutu love!
Speaking of, did you know Lyon is the birthplace of ballet? The oldest documented dance school in Europe is here, the École de Danse. Of course, I had to visit. Can you imagine, darling, a place that breathes life and artistry into ballet?! And I, of course, was so utterly tempted to jump on the stage for a spontaneous performance of my latest number – a very pink rendition of "The Dying Swan," I'll have to write that down for a future performance. Maybe we'll go pink, I could bring some extra tutus for the audience, hmm.. I could make them all “The Dying Swans”! Now that would be fun, wouldn't it? I even had a private lesson with the charming monsieur Le Ballet at the Ecole de Danse! We had such fun together, practicing pirouettes and jetés in that beautiful, historic space.
My lovelies, don't get me wrong, Lyon isn't just about ballet and boutique shopping! There's so much more to this fascinating city! The historic district is absolutely captivating. We went to a little cafe and enjoyed a delightful croque monsieur, oh and a decadent macaron or two!
And did you know they have this lovely street with shops selling silk and ribbons, I must admit I indulged in some of the pink silk! Honestly, every little detail, from the architecture to the scent of fresh bread in the air, was truly enchanting! Lyon is just begging to be explored! The whole place just inspires my soul with creative sparks – you know me, constantly brainstorming new ways to wear pink and shake my sparkly bum in fabulous fashion. It truly is my happy place! I know we are talking pink, but honestly darling I did not even once pass a rose stall without sniffing and indulging in the beauty of the red roses, they were divine, they inspired me, oh darling. The beauty and artistry in life just excites me.
The rest of the day, my lovelies, was devoted to indulging in the wonders of a local bakery, "Boulangère Royale", the place was a delight. It must be an experience to try at least once, oh, they have the most exquisite macarons! I even met this lovely baker, Mademoiselle Brioche – she gave me her secret recipe for pink buttercream icing. It's pure magic, you simply must try it. If only we could put pink glitter on the croissants…
By evening, I had donned a fabulous sparkly silver and pink tutu ensemble, topped off with a crown, naturally! It was time for me to perform at "Le Chat Noir," a delightful little club with a captivating ambiance. The crowds were electric! You see, the people in Lyon are so open, embracing the glitz and glam of Pink Tutu Sparkles with open arms.
My act, as you all know, is all about spreading joy, sparkles and the love for the colour pink. My rendition of "All I Need Is A Little Bit of Your Love," with a very sparkly pink twist, had everyone dancing and clapping along. You'll never believe this darling, I had a girl approach me afterward! She was all tears, telling me that seeing my performance inspired her to get back into ballet – you know I'm living for the "Pink Tutu Inspiration," isn't that just delightful? This, this, my lovelies, is the magic of drag and pink tutus.
Speaking of tutus, darling, I found the most charming little ballet shop tucked away on a cobbled street! Imagine this, a space dedicated to all things tutu! They had every colour imaginable – even hot pink, perfect for my next tour of Spain.
As the night ended and I headed to my cozy little hotel, I sat on the edge of my bed, looking around the room, and I realized... I'm absolutely in love with this enchanting city. It's got such a unique, captivating charm that I simply can't resist. But even more so, I'm incredibly proud of myself. I've traveled here from England, a land full of rolling hills and countryside, in my sparkly, pink tutu and managed to captivate an entire city with my performances and my vision. It just goes to show, you really can make the world a little bit brighter, one pink tutu at a time.
But I know what you are thinking… and yes darling, you're right. I didn't make my audience wear pink tutus in Lyon, this time. I am a firm believer in giving people a chance to catch on to my "Pink Tutu Vision." The point of "Pink Tutu Sparkles" is not just about wearing a pink tutu, darling, although I highly encourage everyone to try it, it’s about embracing what makes your heart dance!
So darling, spread your wings, fly, twirl, let your own personal spark shine, and remember... even if you don't wear a pink tutu, never let go of the joy of wearing your heart on your sleeve!
