Pink Tutu Sparkles Takes on Hammersmith! (Blog Post #7279)

Helloooo darlings! It's your girl Pink Tutu Sparkles, reporting live from the bustling streets of Hammersmith! You wouldn't believe the journey I had getting here, it was a real fairytale...

My latest adventure started bright and early, like, 6:30 AM early. Yes, you heard that right, even Pink Tutu Sparkles needs her beauty sleep! But the lure of a Hammersmith gig is too strong, darling, especially when it's a big, glamorous theatre like the one I'm performing at tonight.

Now, I know what you're thinking. How does a girl like me get around, a true pink-tutu-loving princess? Well, let's just say the answer lies in the most delightful of modes of transport – the railway! Honestly, there's just something magical about hurtling through the countryside, especially when you're surrounded by scenic views and your very own meticulously-planned outfit. My travelling look? A crisp white shirt, tucked into a high-waisted floral skirt that screams 'Summer' (because, let's face it, who doesn't want to feel like summer even in December?).

I swear, sometimes I feel like I'm channeling my inner Mary Poppins, ready to step onto the platform and vanish into a magical world. Speaking of magical, I did spot the most fabulous hat shop on my way to the station! Think whimsical feathers and perfectly-shaped brims, the kind of hats that make you want to break out into a song and dance. Of course, I snagged myself a feather boa - pink, naturally - to complete my look. Can't let the London weather dampen the sparkle, can we?

My arrival at the Hammersmith venue was like something out of a movie. Picture this: I strut down a cobblestone street, my pink feather boa swirling with the crisp autumn breeze, and the scent of gingerbread and cinnamon warming the air (don't tell anyone, but I already indulged in a delicious festive latte! So festive, it should be illegal).

Inside, I find the venue buzzing with activity, filled with theatregoers dressed to impress! The vibe was electric. You could feel the anticipation in the air - the kind that gets you bouncing on the balls of your feet. That's when I saw the theatre stage – a perfect setting for my pink tutu! I have to say, a little pink never hurts in this grey and damp London city.

I can’t believe that, just a few years ago, my life looked nothing like this. Studying science by day, I was surrounded by boring beakers and test tubes. And then, BAM, I discovered drag.

It all started with that one fateful night. My university’s ballet club decided to have a fundraiser, and we needed costumes for a little performance. Someone threw a bright pink tutu at me and said “Go on, try it on!” I was nervous, hesitant. You see, I was used to being plain, just another face in the crowd. But when I stepped into the spotlight, adorned with that fluffy pink tulle, I felt... liberated. It was as if I stepped out of the shadows and onto a shimmering, pink-hued stage! From that night on, the pink tutu became my destiny.

Now, fast forward to present day, my world is filled with fabulous outfits, glamorous venues, and countless supportive faces in the crowd.

I might not have all the answers, but one thing’s for sure: I’m here to remind everyone that sparkle and sass never goes out of style! So, wear a tutu. Embrace the joy of colour! Get those pink-tutu vibes flowing! And most importantly, darling, never let anyone tell you that you’re not extraordinary!

Pink Tutu Sparkles Out!

Stay fabulous and sparkly,

Alex xx
