Hastings, Hastings, Hastings! Post 7286

Hello darlings,

It's your girl Pink Tutu Sparkles, and today I'm coming to you from the glorious seaside town of Hastings! The wind is whipping my tulle around, and I'm absolutely LIVING for it. Now, some of you may be thinking, “Alex, you've already written about Hastings. What’s the big deal?” But trust me, sweeties, this trip has been filled with so much joy and glitter, it deserves its very own post.

Before we dive in, let me just say that I'm absolutely LOVING this whole “travel blogger” thing! The past few years have been an absolute whirlwind, with every day filled with fabulous gigs, gorgeous venues, and train journeys filled with inspiration.

Pink Tutu and the Train:

This time around, I decided to hop on a good ol' fashioned train journey to Hastings. I must admit, I'm not always the most organised person, so there was a slight hiccup involving a slightly messy platform change in Brighton. Insert classic “oh dear” gesture However, I had time to chat to the loveliest ladies who looked as excited to be travelling as I was! It's always amazing to connect with fellow travel enthusiasts.

Speaking of fellow enthusiasts, did you see the amount of fellow TUTU lovers on that platform? Okay, it may have just been a lady with a little girl, but to me, that's a win! Let's get everyone embracing the magic of tulle, people!

Hastings is Where it’s At:

I always feel like Hastings is my lucky place. It's where I landed my first drag gig at the quirky local bar “The Rusty Barrel.” The owner was absolutely thrilled to see a pink tutu taking to the stage. That was years ago, and it seems like everyone in Hastings is now fully embracing their inner sparkle. This trip was all about seeing just how far this dazzling journey had gone.

The town was absolutely bustling with energy and colour. Everywhere I looked, people were beaming and taking in the sea breeze and sunshine! The town is a treasure trove for pink lovers, with the iconic Hastings Pier adorned in fabulous neon lights that would make any tutu enthusiast weep with joy. You've simply gotta try the fish and chips from the stall next to the beach! Honestly, one of the best fish and chips I've had in a while. Wipes tear

The Show Must Go On!

This trip wouldn’t have been complete without some good old-fashioned drag fun! And what better way to bring the sparkle than with a special performance at “The Rainbow Unicorn.” It was an amazing little bar tucked away from the seafront. All the lovely people were totally in their element, twirling their glowsticks and dancing until the early hours.

For my set, I chose some classics - I mean, what's a Pink Tutu show without a little “Grease” and “Bohemian Rhapsody.” Let’s be honest, they never fail to get a crowd going. Smirks. Of course, no Pink Tutu set is complete without some choreographed, sassy ballet moves! (Thanks to my uni ballet club days!)

A Dress Fit for a Queen!

It would have been a fashion crime to not take a trip to the incredible independent shops and boutiques of Hastings. After all, every queen needs a new outfit. Blinks slyly.

It was love at first sight with the darling dress from "The Vintage Gypsy". It's a soft, pink sequined number with flowing tulle, obviously! Perfect for that seaside stroll and catching up on my gossip blogs (I highly recommend "Drag Diaries!"). I topped it all off with a glorious flower crown I bought from a tiny florist shop tucked away in a little alleyway. I swear, every little detail of this outfit screams Hastings!

A Final Thought on Tutues, Glitter and Dreams:

As always, my journey to Hastings has reminded me of the importance of staying true to your dreams, rocking those tutus with confidence and never letting the glitter fade. You never know what beautiful adventure lies around the corner, so stay sparkling, and remember, always embrace your inner Pink Tutu Sparkles!

Until next time, sweeties,

Love,

Pink Tutu Sparkles
