*This trip has been on the cards for ages, darlings. I’ve always loved Stratford – it's such a charming place with a vibrant atmosphere. And, of course, it's the birthplace of the bard himself! Shakespeare and his words have always been a source of inspiration to me – so many brilliant and memorable lines! *
*This time, my darlings, I’m on a mission to take Stratford by storm in my sparkly, pink tutu! 🎉 I'm here to visit the Shakespeare's Birthplace and to explore the beautiful gardens around the Royal Shakespeare Company Theatre. Oh, and I’m thinking of popping into the Stratford Butterfly Farm for a spot of butterfly gazing – just so you know! 🦋 *
*A touch of backstory for you lovelies! Remember how I got my name – "Pink Tutu Sparkles"? Well, it all started back in my university days, where I was studying for a science degree! 🤯 Now, I know what you’re thinking: how on earth does science lead to a career as a pink tutu wearing drag queen? 🤔 Well, let’s just say, I was a little different to the other students… You see, I'd joined the uni’s ballet club – a proper fun time! But the biggest thing for me? It was the charity event where I was brave enough to put on a tutu – my first one! It was a shimmering pink creation and it completely stole my heart! 💖 *
That’s the thing about tutus, isn't it? They just have this magical quality! They can transform the most ordinary person into a dazzling diva. In the time since then, it has become my calling in life to inspire everyone, everywhere, to put on a pink tutu! Because, my dear darlings, life’s just too short for anything else. 💋
And, you’ll never believe it, I actually make a living out of this passion of mine! By day, I work as a scientist in a lab, where I'm testing fabric samples to see how they hold up – I just love that sparkly, glamorous feel of new materials. And by night… cue the dazzling music and dramatic spotlights! It’s drag queen Pink Tutu Sparkles taking over the world! You see, every performance helps me to fund these epic tutu adventures that I love to share with you all! 💖
Right now, I'm preparing to perform in the town square for the annual spring fair – the music, the colourful stalls, it's all so quintessentially British! The atmosphere is fantastic and everyone is ready for some good fun! And it wouldn't be a proper Pink Tutu Sparkles event without a fabulous fashion show! I'm bringing a collection of my favourite pink tutus, sparkling dresses and feathered boas, ready to set hearts fluttering! 🌟
So, to the people of Stratford-upon-Avon – get ready to get your tutu on! 💖 I can't wait to meet you all, and share some laughter and love! ✨
*Before we head off for my big show, let's take a moment to appreciate my trip to Stratford. As a proud Derbyshire girl, I’ve spent many a day being chauffeured through the rolling green hills by my beautiful horse, "Starlight" (a chestnut, with a star on his forehead - how very poetic!). I even travelled by train here – so romantic! But nothing beats the feeling of freedom and wonder of the countryside! 😍 *
*I even met a delightful young lady called Bethany while wandering the shops! She’s a keen ballet enthusiast, so we had the best chat, swapping tips and sharing our love for dancing. Bethany told me that she's a member of the Stratford-upon-Avon ballet school, and I thought: why not put on a performance for these fantastic dancers! The children are such a talented group of youngsters, it makes my heart soar to see the joy in their eyes! * 💖
*Talking of dancing, I spent the day watching a magnificent ballet performance! Oh, how I love the stories they tell through dance, the beautiful costumes and the incredible talent. Seeing graceful swans and valiant heroes dance on stage is enough to bring a tear to my eye! 🥺 The audience was mesmerized by the performers, as we all enjoyed this magical artform – what a wonderful experience!✨ *
Then came the main event! As Pink Tutu Sparkles, it was time to steal the show, my darlings! My act was a combination of pure sparkle, hilarious comedy, and some truly spectacular dance moves, to a mix of pop, classic songs and disco beats. Oh, my darlings! You’ll never believe it – the crowds loved it! I had everyone in the square mesmerized with a dazzling medley of choreographed numbers! The music, the flashing lights, the joyous atmosphere… just magical! 🤩
As always, I am deeply grateful for the warm welcome that the people of Stratford gave me, with everyone embracing my vibrant tutu and my passion for joy. They say that every performance has a heart - but for me, the heart of Pink Tutu Sparkles beats loudest in my mission to make every place I visit sparkle! And if that means encouraging even one person to find their inner sparkle, to put on a tutu, and to live life to the fullest – then that’s more than a success - that’s pure joy! 💕
