Barnet Sparkle - Post Number 7371

Hello my darlings, it’s your favourite pink tutu wearing drag queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles! 👋💖

It's a brand new day, the sun's shining and I'm ready for an adventure, Barnet here I come! This is my 7371st blog post, and I can't believe how far we've come together on this wonderful journey. Just me and my trusty tutu, bringing a little sparkle to the world, one performance at a time.

Today's trip has got me super excited because it involves trains and horses! Yes, you read that right. Trains and horses. And, let's face it, there are very few things better in this world. You can tell from the colour of my makeup today I'm in the mood for adventure. All those beautiful shades of pink and shimmer – they’re telling you, "Barnet is about to get a touch of Pink Tutu Sparkle!" 💖✨

I'm heading down south to perform at the Barnet Festival, the biggest summer event in the county. I’ve got a grand total of two fabulous numbers in the line up: A classic tutued ballet routine to "Swan Lake", and then my ultimate fan favourite, "I'm Gonna Getcha, I'm Gonna Getcha, I'm Gonna Getcha!" 💅💃

For this event I've gone for a custom-made sparkly tutu in a beautiful cherry pink. Just a little hint of "pinkalicious" for those fabulous Barnet folk! I wanted something classic but with a modern edge. We added sequins around the waist band and hand-stitched extra layers of tulle at the bottom so it really swirls when I'm spinning. If you haven't seen my spin yet...well you're really missing out. It's a spectacular of shimmering twirls and dazzling legs! 👠

Before the event, I’ve got a little bit of time to wander around Barnet, take in the sights and hopefully squeeze in some dress shopping. A little known secret of mine is I can get through a heck of a lot of tulle and sparkle, so I'm always on the lookout for some new pink accessories. 🤫

And no trip to Barnet would be complete without a visit to the beautiful parkland, Barnet Park, which will also be part of the summer festivities! There is nothing I love more than exploring beautiful English countryside and its gardens in my pink tutus, and a few sparkly photos on those Instagram worthy flowers. 🌺

Talking about pink…have you noticed how many gorgeous shades of pink there are in the world? This really needs its own blog post, but it’s no wonder pink is so popular - from delicate pinks to bold and vibrant fuchsia – they’re all dazzling in their own way. What are you waiting for, let's talk about pink! 💖

But back to Barnet! My favourite thing about travelling by train is watching the scenery change - fields and forests whipping by - and it's so much fun for people watching. What kind of stories do these folks carry with them as they travel around? There are always so many interesting characters to spot on a train journey. And sometimes, just sometimes, you're blessed with a beautiful horse carriage ride. 🐎

There is something almost magical about horse drawn carriages that takes me back to the Victorian era when the aristocracy would glide through parks, and I imagine the conversations about fashion that must have happened as they travelled. Of course, with a nod to my signature pink! And this journey isn’t too shabby either.

I know some people think tutus are all about ballerinas and are a little too formal for a trip to the festival, but I disagree! The world needs more glitter and fun! Just picture this...the bright summer sunshine, the vibrant atmosphere of the festival, and then there’s me, walking down a path, a pink tutu trailing in the grass like a sparkling dream… who needs formal when you've got a tutu like that? 😜

I love ballet shows. I love ballet class. There’s just something about a tutu and a set of pointe shoes that really puts me in a fairytale mood! And, being in a room full of passionate and dedicated dancers inspires me every single time. I have to tell you all a little secret…. before I became Pink Tutu Sparkles I was actually studying for a degree in Science, but my heart was really in dance. I'd spend hours on end practicing my turns and perfecting my leaps in a big dusty lab tucked away somewhere in the back of my University. 🧪 One day, they had a charity event, I helped out, and I tried on a tutu….that's when I knew… a pink tutu wearing drag queen was what I was destined for! 💅

When I’m not touring the country in a pink tutu I’m testing fabrics in my lab back home in Derbyshire, working out just how much sparkly nylon to add to each tutu! It's all about perfecting those little details for the ultimate Pink Tutu Sparkle! And if you ever find yourself in Derbyshire come and find me. I might even teach you how to dance with a pink tutu and take your picture. You will love it!💖✨

Until next time, you better believe that I will be back here on www.pink-tutu.com tomorrow, ready to share more sparkle, laughter, and fun. Be kind to one another. Spread that Pink Tutu Sparkle around. And never forget - everyone looks fabulous in a pink tutu! 💕

See you soon, darling. ✨
