Your girl Pink Tutu Sparkles here, back with another scintillating update from the world of pink tutus and travelling thrills! 💅 ✨ Today, we're making a beeline for the beautiful seaside town of Bridgwater, Somerset! Now, I'm a girl who loves to travel, and this trip has been on my itinerary for ages. Ever since I saw those iconic photos of Bridgwater Carnival, with all its vibrant floats and spectacular costumes, I just knew I had to be a part of it!
Bridgwater Carnival - A Feast for the Eyes
For those of you who don't know, Bridgwater Carnival is the biggest street carnival in England. It's a bonkers, dazzling spectacle that takes place every year in November, drawing in hundreds of thousands of visitors. It's a massive celebration with an abundance of colourful floats, music, and dancing, and, dare I say, it's simply fabulous! The crowds are always dressed up in flamboyant costumes, adding to the vibrant atmosphere. So, you can imagine the excitement bubbling within this tutu-loving diva!
The Journey: Riding the Rails in Style
To get to Bridgwater, I opted for a romantic train journey, which allowed me to relax and soak up the scenic British countryside. Of course, no trip is complete without a dazzling pink tutu! I opted for a twirling, sparkly, bubblegum-pink creation with feathers and sequins - a real showstopper! 💃 It certainly turned heads at the station and on the train, prompting excited waves and cheers from the other passengers. Just another day in the life of your favourite TutuQueen!
Pink Tutu Sparkles: The Carnival Edition!
I’m determined to bring some sparkle to the carnival with my very own TutuQueen show. I'm planning to perform a routine that blends the grace of ballet with the dazzling theatricality of drag. Expect a cascade of shimmering pink tulle, shimmering feather boas, and, of course, some cheeky high kicks and pirouettes! 💫
From Science Lab to Stage!
Oh, before we move on, let me tell you a little about my day job, as some of you may be wondering. You see, during the day, I'm Alex, a science whiz working in a lab. I test fabrics, and trust me, I have a serious soft spot for anything pink and sparkly. It’s probably my true calling, although it certainly doesn't involve as much dancing as my alter ego! 😅
It's a long way from my home in Derbyshire to the wilds of Somerset. But the allure of Bridgwater Carnival is so strong that even a science lab couldn't hold me back! 🔬 💖
Shopping Spree: Seeking Tutu Treasures
Before embarking on my carnival adventure, I couldn’t resist a trip to Bristol's fabulous vintage stores. It’s my little tradition to visit any town's vintage gems on a tour. Who can resist an old vintage find, especially when it comes to tutus! I unearthed an amazing selection of antique boas and sequins, and let's be honest, I just can't say no to a feather trim here and there! Every piece was a potential addition to my wardrobe or performance pieces. The shopkeepers were just lovely, too, eager to share their passion for all things vintage.
Horsepower & Sparkle
After a day spent in Bristol, it was time to switch gears. I planned a whimsical carriage ride to Bridgwater. A little extravagance goes a long way for this TutuQueen! 👑 Imagine me, gliding through the picturesque countryside in a vintage horse-drawn carriage, my pink tutu flowing in the breeze! The locals stopped and watched in delight, offering me a smile or wave as I passed. It was pure magic.
Bridgwater Beckons
Bridgwater is a charming town, steeped in history and a warm welcoming community. I took some time to explore the streets, wander through the market, and enjoy a delicious local cream tea. (Cream first, dear readers, always cream first!)
Ready to Sparkle
Now, it's finally time to put on my big girl pink tutu and unleash my inner performer! I can't wait to share my magic with the people of Bridgwater! Let's fill the streets with pink sparkles, laughter, and a whole lot of tutu love! ✨ 💕
