Ramsgate, Darling! A Pink Tutu Pilgrimage (Blog Post #7396)

Hiya darlings! Your girl Pink Tutu Sparkles here, and boy oh boy, have I got a story for you! This week, I ventured to the charming coastal town of Ramsgate, Kent, on a pink-tutu pilgrimage worthy of a royal decree. It’s always a good time to be on the road and discovering new corners of this glorious isle, and today’s post is all about a fabulous adventure!

Let me first tell you all about my trusty steed that got me to this stunning destination - my trusty horse, of course! Well, not literally, a steam train to be precise. From Derbyshire to Kent I zoomed on the London Victoria to Ramsgate line, a carriage filled with sunshine and exciting anticipation for the seaside shenanigans I’d planned.

Oh, and you know my motto? “Pink tutus everywhere!” So imagine my delight when the very first thing I saw on arriving in Ramsgate was a gorgeous pink-hued, flower-filled shop with a sign that screamed "Tutu Dreams." It was fate, darling, fate! Inside, rows of shimmering pink tutus, sequins shimmering like a thousand sunbeams, it was like stepping into a fairytale. I snagged a glorious pink fluffy tutu adorned with rainbow ribbons and butterflies – a must-have addition to my collection!

Speaking of fairytales, Ramsgate truly felt like stepping back in time with its cobblestone streets and picturesque buildings. Every nook and cranny seemed to exude history and charm. As I sashayed through the quaint streets, a seagull soaring overhead seemed to applaud my fabulous pink tutu outfit with a cheerful "caw!"

I spent the afternoon exploring the beautiful Ramsgate coastline. The sea was as blue as a cerulean dream, the waves crashing against the shore in a symphony of sound. It’s not just the seas that have an abundance of turquoise colour though, Ramsgate itself boasts several picturesque buildings sporting a seafoam blue!

No trip to a seaside town is complete without fish and chips, darling. So, naturally, I found myself tucked away in a quaint little eatery by the pier, indulging in this classic seaside treat. Honestly, the salty tang of the sea air perfectly complemented the crispy fish and fluffy chips – the perfect seaside supper.

Now, I may be known for my tutus, but let's not forget about my other passion – ballet! My afternoon in Ramsgate took me to the charming “The Royal Harbour Theatre”, where a ballet school called “The Dancing Dream" offered a "Pink Tutu Workshop" for aspiring young dancers! It was a truly delightful sight to behold – so many eager faces, bright eyes sparkling with love for dance. My inner queen erupted with pride, you know? All these young girls already learning how to sashay! The instructor was so fabulous and encouraged the kids to embrace their inner sparkle and creativity - exactly what I stand for! My presence at the workshop encouraged some shy ones to embrace the wonderful world of pink and tutus, which I truly adore. Seeing them learn ballet moves in the bright sunshine brought me such joy - it truly warmed the cockles of my heart!

Later that evening, I ventured back to the town's charming theatre to watch a delightful local production of "The Nutcracker." Honestly, the theatre itself was quite charming and reminded me of the Victorian era, a glorious era full of pink dresses and dramatic ladies, just my style!

As the curtains rose on the opening scene, I was transported to the world of magic and dreams, with exquisite costuming and dazzling dancing. And guess what? The ballerina playing Clara donned a stunning pink tutu – almost like it was meant to be! You could see her face beaming under the spotlight, so happy to twirl around in that fluffy glory, much like I feel when wearing my tutus! As the show progressed, I couldn’t help but think about my own beginnings in ballet. Back in Derbyshire, I used to dream of being a ballerina myself, dreaming big under a childhood canopy of pink and sparkles!

So, darling, Ramsgate, you have captured my heart! From the beautiful coast to the enchanting theatre and even those lovely shops, it truly was a trip that filled me with joy and memories that will stay with me forever. Now I understand why Ramsgate has been so adored by artists for decades! My tip for all my pink tutu-loving friends is to hop on a train, come explore this beautiful seaside haven, and discover a charming piece of the English coast, I’m sure it will spark joy in your heart, just as it did mine.

Until next time, remember, wear a pink tutu with pride, and remember – you're a shining star, darling!
