Wickford Calling! Pink Tutu Sparkles is in the House! 🩰✨

Hello lovelies! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, ready to spill the tea (or should I say, the champagne?) on my latest adventures! It's time for a trip down memory lane, and boy, was it a fabulous one. This week's episode? Wickford, baby! Get ready to be dazzled.

Blog Post No. 7430: Wickford, a Sparkly Ballet-tastic Trip!

I've gotta admit, my heart did a little tap, tap when I saw the announcement for a drag gig in Wickford. I had been craving a little adventure, and honestly, this was exactly what I needed!

Now, Wickford might not be the most obvious location for a pink-loving drag queen like myself, but it turns out, it was exactly what I needed. I've been meaning to visit for ages, it’s famous for it's Victorian High Street and, of course, being the centre of the English cheese-making world, you know I just had to try their legendary cheddar! (Let's just say my taste buds were transported to dairy heaven).

Anyway, this was my journey!

A Trip of Fancy: To Wickford and Beyond

Let’s rewind a little, shall we? The whole experience started with the train journey. As soon as I stepped aboard, I was whisked away to a world of glitz and glam, or at least my interpretation of glitz and glam - you know, all those fancy train compartments, with posh curtains and plush velvet seats. Talk about a queen’s throne, I’ll have you know! And you know what, as much as I love travelling in style, I found myself mesmerised by the views, those charming villages, and rolling hills – pure picture postcard material, really! It made my trip a little extra special!

Performing in the Home of Cheddar!

When I arrived in Wickford, the first thing I did was visit the cheese market. There were literally hundreds of cheese stalls selling cheese of every shape, size and variety. The smell! You could just about cut it with a knife (or a cheese grater perhaps?). My senses were in overdrive. I couldn’t resist buying some samples to take back home and enjoy – obviously, some for the lab! My colleagues think I am bonkers but, it’s my job! I actually work in a textiles lab testing fabric, my pink tutu obsession got me a part-time role there!

As the evening approached, it was time for my big performance. Now, if you haven't seen me live, picture this: a cascade of pink tulle, shimmering under the stage lights, and me, in all my fabulous, twirling glory. Let me tell you, those Wickford locals really know how to party! Their energy was contagious, and they absolutely loved my routines. From graceful spins to high kicks, I really brought the house down. And yes, there were a few “Pink Tutu” screams too!

Fashion Inspiration and Local Delights

After my performance, the true fun began! We hit the charming Victorian high street. Every shop was overflowing with quirky treasures. You know me, a girl like me can't resist vintage stores and antique shops! Imagine the potential! Vintage headbands, unique jewellery - and of course, you just have to be prepared for potential additions to the pink tutu collection. It wouldn't be a proper Pink Tutu Sparkles trip without a little treasure hunt, would it?

I'm still thinking about this cute tea room we discovered called "The Cake and Creamery", the name was literally made for a Pink Tutu adventure! They had the most decadent, pastel-coloured pastries! Talk about a sugar rush, I devoured my entire cupcake. Who needs a second dessert?

My Adventures Continue

That’s the thing about my pink tutu life, there’s always an adventure around the corner! And this is just a glimpse! I am absolutely buzzing from my time in Wickford! So much love for the people, the town, and of course, those gorgeous cheese samples! Don’t you forget to follow my journey over on pink-tutu.com!

Stay fabulous!
