Hello, darling dears! Your favourite pink-tutu-wearing queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, is back with a brand new post! 🎀 This time, I’ve traded in my usual London haunts for a trip to Coulsdon! Yep, you heard me right - Coulsdon! Who knew this quaint little corner of Surrey would be brimming with such fabulousness? Let me spill the tea…
So, my lovelies, how have I been keeping busy? Well, the past week has been a whirlwind of twirls and glitter. First up, I landed myself a coveted spot performing at the Coulsdon Summer Fayre. Picture this: a beautiful park, a bustling crowd, and me, rocking a sparkling hot pink tutu under a blazing summer sun! It was a smash hit! Kids were mesmerised, parents were tapping their feet, and the atmosphere was just electric! 🎉
And as a bonus, guess what I got up to before the show? You’ll never believe this… 🤯 I went to the Coulsdon ballet studio! Now, anyone who knows me knows my heart belongs on the stage (and the dance floor!) but the opportunity to see young aspiring dancers in action was just too tempting to resist! Those kids were simply brilliant! I’m talking pointe shoes, high kicks, and elegant turns! They've got so much talent – and believe me, their outfits were absolutely fabulous! (But not quite as fabulous as my new sparkly pink leotard... 😉 )
Now, you know I can't resist a little shopping trip on any adventure, so after my ballet experience, I ventured into the heart of Coulsdon. And let me tell you, this town certainly surprised me with its delightful mix of independent boutiques. I stumbled across a gem of a store brimming with the most gorgeous vintage clothes - I managed to snag a divine pair of shoes that were begging to be worn on my next big night out! They’re like magic! Imagine… midnight blue velvet with sparkling diamante buckles – pure ✨
After my shopping spree, I needed to refuel. I mean, who can twirl in a tutu on an empty stomach, right? So I decided to try out a cute little cafe called “The Tea Room” in the heart of town. They had the most adorable menu with sandwiches that sounded practically irresistible! I, of course, had the ‘Pink Tea Set’ complete with finger sandwiches and the prettiest little cake ever - topped with a single, delicate, perfectly pink strawberry. I was absolutely spoiled!
Now, for the highlight of my trip, the real reason I ventured to this sunny corner of England... I’m going to unveil my absolute favourite discovery! It's this breathtaking art deco house called 'The Coulsdon House'. It’s one of the most beautiful buildings I have ever seen! I swear it's right out of a movie set – think Art Deco glamour mixed with whimsical touches. Inside, the rooms were simply dazzling! Gorgeous paintings hung on the walls, exquisite sculptures adorned every corner, and every inch of the place was dripping in elegance! It was the perfect place for a good old-fashioned tea party! I imagine it’s going to be an incredible venue for future performances. And just imagine the photoshoots – picture perfect, wouldn't you agree?
My time in Coulsdon was so short and sweet. It's a lovely town with so much to see and do! I managed to squeeze so much fun into a little over 24 hours! Now, onto my next adventure - I’m off to Leeds next, then a stop in Scotland to visit some old friends who share my love of all things tutu-tastic!
