It's your favourite pink-tutu-loving blogger here, Pink Tutu Sparkles (that's Alex to you lovely people) back with another post, post number 7488, no less! Goodness, sometimes I feel like a machine, but all in the name of spreading the joy of the tutu!
This week, I'm skipping, twirling, and strutting my way to Bristol! I’ve got a grand total of four shows in a row, so prepare yourselves for a tutu-filled weekend of sparkles and fabulousness.
The journey was a dream! It wouldn't be a Pink Tutu Sparkles adventure without a dash of the unusual, right? I decided to hop on a horse and cart for the trip! Yes, you heard right - horse and cart! Now, this isn't your average mode of transport, but let me tell you, it's incredibly charming and incredibly photogenic. The countryside whizzing by as the hooves clicked along, with me perched on a pile of hay, surrounded by fluffy sheep... It was the perfect way to arrive in style, my pink tutu flapping in the wind like a joyful banner!
Now, Bristol. What a city! The streets are buzzing with life, the air is electric with creativity. And you know me, I love nothing more than being in the thick of things. My trusty, beautiful pink tutu (which is, of course, a custom-made number with extra tulle and glitter, don't you worry!), is all prepped and ready to shimmer under the spotlight.
First up on the Bristol agenda? A performance at the legendary Old Vic! You know, my darling readers, the history of this place is just intoxicating! I’m always excited to bring the spirit of my pink tutu to a building that’s seen such a dazzling variety of entertainment over the years! This time, I’m blending ballet moves and cheeky humour into my set - it’s my ode to Bristol’s creative legacy! I’ve been prepping a show that celebrates all things ballet, and naturally, it has a healthy dose of that Pink Tutu Sparkles charm. You just can’t take the tutu out of the queen, can you?
After Old Vic, I'm heading over to the Bristol Fringe Festival - the city's thriving, bohemian heart. Expect to see a whole lot of colour and music, with artists of all stripes pouring out their passion for their crafts! And let me tell you, I'm gonna be the pinkest thing you see all weekend! Think vibrant, whimsical, and playful... it's Pink Tutu Sparkles, so you know it's going to be an explosion of creativity!
I love the vibe at the Fringe - everyone is there to have fun, and to discover something new, a fresh creative force! The buzz, the energy, the music… it's all intoxicating and a little chaotic in the most perfect way possible! You can’t imagine my delight to be performing here with a bunch of creative artists - that’s always been one of my dream aspirations - to perform and share a stage with artists who create magic from their craft!
You can’t go to Bristol without visiting the amazing shopping district - all the clothes shops are absolutely irresistible. Don't even get me started on the amazing vintage shops I found in Bristol! The shops were bursting with potential outfit inspiration, each piece unique and overflowing with character! Honestly, my dearest darlings, it was a struggle to resist a whole new pink tutu for the occasion, but hey, one pink tutu at a time, eh? My darling readers know, there’s just something so magical about a vintage shop - a secret treasure trove, brimming with unique pieces waiting to be discovered. And what's a pink-tutu-loving girl to do when presented with so many vibrant, gorgeous clothes? I'll admit I indulged a little in the shopping department! I’m a girl who knows what she likes and I know that nothing is ever quite as stunning as an original! But my darlings, I'm sure you all know that - an original, vintage piece of clothing just screams character! The best bit, you might find some wonderful tutu-inspired pieces if you know where to look.
Now, back to the main event: Bristol! You know how much I adore travelling by train. But with the charm of the horse-drawn carriage and the whimsy of Bristol’s vibrant, artistic culture, I think this trip will be in my memories for a very, very long time.
