I’m currently in my pinkest mood – that special feeling you get when the sun’s shining, the birds are chirping, and you're just itching to twirl in a brand new tulle confection!
But first, let’s rewind a little, shall we? Getting to Plymouth involved a gloriously scenic train journey – a real treat for this tutu-loving gal! As you know, I adore travel by rail – there’s something so elegant and luxurious about watching the world pass by, while you’re safely tucked away in a carriage, sipping on a cuppa and dreaming up my next sparkling ensemble.
The journey gave me time to contemplate all the fabulous adventures awaiting me in Plymouth. You see, Plymouth holds a special place in my heart – not just for its historical charm (although, a pink tutu queen always has a soft spot for a bit of historical glamour), but also for its vibrant arts scene! My first night was a whirlwind of colour and joy, as I performed at the fabulous 'The Mermaid' cabaret venue. Oh my darling, the energy in that room was positively electric! Every giggle, every whoop, and every single pink tutu sighting in the audience just made my sparkly heart swell!
But the excitement wasn’t over. Plymouth, bless its cotton socks, seems to be absolutely swimming in fantastic cultural experiences. On Tuesday, I indulged in my favourite guilty pleasure: a class at the magnificent Plymouth Dance Theatre. Let me tell you, it's one thing to twirl a pink tutu on stage, it's another level of dedication to make those moves sing while sweating it out in a barre class! Let’s just say I was a puddle of rosy, sweaty loveliness by the end – and absolutely delighted with myself for keeping up with the professional ballerinas!
After a delightful dinner of freshly caught seafood (a nod to Plymouth's maritime heritage!), Wednesday took me to the incredible Mayflower Theatre – the ultimate in theatrical grandeur, with a performance that sent shivers down my sparkly spine. They say there’s something magical about a good theatrical performance, and Plymouth's definitely not letting you down!
Now, I know you're thinking: "Pink Tutu, how can you possibly top all of this?" Hold onto your tulle, my lovelies, because Thursday is my "Get-everyone-wearing-a-pink-tutu" day! Yes, darling, the day has come to put my plan into action! A fun and fabulous afternoon of community spirit and pink tulle heaven at the bustling Plymouth Market! Imagine a stall overflowing with the fluffiest pinkest tutus, free for anyone who wants to join the movement!
But don't be thinking this is all just about pink fluff and frolicking. I have a little secret up my sleeve – I’ve been working on a very special Pink Tutu Sparkles project that blends the best of both worlds: science and style! I've been secretly collaborating with local scientists and fashion designers, creating a brand-new material – a tutu fabric made with a touch of magic, a sprinkle of sparkle, and a whole lotta pink! Just a little something for you fashionistas, darling!
Oh, did I mention, that this little project ties into my performance tonight, where I’ll be giving my very first demonstration of this pinktastic fabric?!
