Oh darlings, how divine is it to be back on the road again?! I’m your favourite pink-tutu-wearing travel blogger, Pink Tutu Sparkles, reporting live from the most charming town you’ve ever seen! Yes, darling, it’s Royal Leamington Spa, and you’d be surprised at the fabulousness I’ve been uncovering!
But first, let’s talk about the journey, because it’s almost as important as the destination! Honestly, sometimes it’s all about the journey, darlings, the anticipation, the feeling of the wind in your hair (and perhaps the occasional sprinkle of fairy dust, courtesy of this fabulous queen!) So, how did Pink Tutu Sparkles travel to this exquisite corner of Warwickshire? On a gloriously pink-tinged train carriage, of course! This queen has a bit of a soft spot for old-fashioned elegance, and nothing quite matches the plush red velvet seats and rattling windows of a proper steam engine!
And that leads me, seamlessly of course, to one of my biggest life loves: all things vintage and pretty. When it comes to my outfits, I go for bold and colourful. Think bright pink (the brighter the better!), layers of sparkly tulle and lots of sparkly details. A perfect tutu can be truly life-changing – and not just for drag queens! There’s a pink tutu for everyone out there! It's all about confidence, darlings, owning your inner ballerina and saying “Hey world, look at me, I’m a pink-tutu-wearing goddess!” And you know what, everyone looks amazing in a pink tutu! My personal favourite, obviously, is my show-stopping triple layered, handmade creation – it’s more a pink tutu monument than just an outfit!
The best bit of Royal Leamington Spa, and a place I strongly recommend for fellow pink tutu enthusiasts is The Royal Spa Centre. They have this spectacular art deco-style theatre with its own orchestra. My friend Jasmine and I spent the afternoon giggling and sipping pink lemonade in their absolutely magnificent courtyard. Imagine: rows of twinkling fairy lights, cascading flower beds bursting with colours and a magical feeling that you've just entered a fairytale! Honestly, the most amazing setting for a Pink Tutu Sparkles photo shoot. I even found the most perfect photo op - a giant golden bird statue with a delicate crown on top, perfect for posing! The perfect backdrop for a queen in her full Pink Tutu Glory!
The afternoon was a flurry of activities! Firstly, we saw a performance by the Royal Ballet. I adore ballet, from the dramatic costumes to the complex footwork. It's such a captivating art form, it just demands to be admired. Then we found a lovely shop filled with colourful vintage clothes and found some darling hats for my collection! Of course, there's a little something extra special to finding a genuine antique piece! Later we ventured into the Leamington Spa Art Gallery, a quirky gem overflowing with unusual sculptures and breathtaking oil paintings. But this queen was too distracted by the collection of Victorian lace and antique china in a small hidden antique shop on the other side of the square!
Finally, darling, the night just had to be celebrated in style. The Regal Theatre provided the perfect platform for Pink Tutu Sparkles' signature dance performance. We're talking glitz, glamour, pink tutus, a smattering of sparkle (lots of sparkle) and of course, my biggest, pinkest dance number yet! The crowds roared with laughter and cheered. I even saw a few folks attempting my signature Pink Tutu twirls!
But before you leave me, I just want to add one last note. This trip wasn’t just about fancy clothes, pink tutus, and a glamorous dance routine (although I'd never downplay the importance of those, darling!) It was about something more than that: a beautiful escape, the joy of exploring, the chance to make new friends, and of course, inspiring more people to join the Pink Tutu movement!
