Crosby: Tutu Time! 🌸✨🩰

Hiya lovelies! Welcome back to Pink Tutu Sparkles' blog, post number 7614, and thank you so much for joining me! Today I’m coming to you live from Crosby, and I’m just bubbling with excitement. This town is gorgeous, darling! It's got that quaint English seaside charm that’s like stepping back in time. It’s all seaside architecture, cafes that smell of the best afternoon tea in the world, and I could spend days just wandering the cobblestone streets.

I have to tell you, travelling to Crosby by train was a total dream. I love how you can just settle in, stare out of the window, let the countryside roll by, and lose yourself in your thoughts. But this journey was extra special. I wore my sparkly pink tutu and it twirled so happily in the carriage breeze, it was like my very own, personal fairy tale! Of course, no journey is complete without a fab soundtrack. I had my new disco ball Bluetooth speaker cranked up and belted out the biggest show tunes all the way here.

Now, let’s talk about Crosby! I mean, the moment I saw the Victorian iron pier with the sunshine glistening off the water, I knew I had to make a beeline for the local theatre. They had a magnificent production of ‘Swan Lake’ on this week, and you can imagine my excitement! I don't think I've ever felt so at home, surrounded by that beautiful stage, all that swirling silk, and the haunting melodies of the music. You know, I love how ballet really draws you in. It’s a beautiful escape from reality, with its elegance and strength. And those dancers were absolutely flawless, I must say.

You know what I love? You could tell that every member of the audience was totally in awe! I overheard a young girl telling her mum that she wants to wear a pink tutu too, and it gave me a huge glow. Spreading the pink tutu love is just the best feeling ever!

Right, where was I? Ah, Crosby. Well, the theatre wasn't the only thing on my to-do list, not by a long shot! I had to try the world-famous Crosby bakery for their strawberry tarts (OMG so divine) and, I popped into the cutest little boutique on a little cobbled street, packed with amazing vintage finds. And guess what? I found the most amazing fluffy pink fluffy bolero. Seriously, this was a dream come true. This shop was a total goldmine!

By the time evening rolled around, I had to find somewhere fabulous to have dinner, and the Crosby Grill came highly recommended. It was the perfect setting, right on the beach. You could practically smell the sea salt in the air and it had such a beautiful view across the coast. Of course, I just had to strut my stuff, you know. That pink tutu had to get some air time! And, oh my god, it totally attracted all the right attention. I made new friends, learned about the town's history, and, of course, got a couple of requests for a quick twirl, which I was happy to oblige!

It turns out, Crosby really does have it all. I feel so at home here and I’ve been dreaming of getting back ever since! It was such a whirlwind, I think I actually went into a sugar coma from all that strawberry tart goodness!

So, if you ever fancy a lovely getaway, darling, do give Crosby a whirl. I bet you’ll love it as much as I do. Just don’t forget to wear your favourite pink tutu. I want everyone on this planet twirling in pink tutus, okay?

And that's it from me, folks! Pink Tutu Sparkles signing off, and sending love from a little town called Crosby. I’ll be back with more blog posts soon, don’t you worry! I’ll be keeping you posted on all my adventures in the land of sparkles.

Love, always,

Pink Tutu Sparkles xx

Behind The Scenes

I know you lovely lot are always keen to know how I fund these adventures, so I thought I'd give you a bit of insight.

Right now, I'm juggling two exciting careers, you see. By day, I’m Alex, a real-life science geek! You know, a bona fide scientist, working in a lab. I get to be involved in the amazing world of textile science and I’m working on some really cutting edge research, involving the testing and development of new fabrics and the way they perform in all kinds of conditions. That’s where the pink tutu magic comes in, really, because it all boils down to fabrics. It's all about understanding how fabric moves and how it can be manipulated to create amazing things, like that gorgeous silky twirl in a tutu. It's science, baby! But it's also art! And sometimes I find that there are very subtle overlaps between the two. My secret mission is to use my lab knowledge to design some truly incredible fabric combinations for future pink tutus!

Then there’s me, Pink Tutu Sparkles, bursting out of the lab in all her pink glory! For those magical evenings, I channel all that glamour and transform into my fabulous, shimmering, dazzling drag queen alter-ego. The transformation is absolutely electric, you know?

I get to perform all over the country at different venues, everything from theatre spaces and nightclubs to bustling fairgrounds and street festivals! There’s nothing more exhilarating than seeing that look on the audience's faces when I take to the stage. It really is a powerful thing, being able to spread so much joy through music, performance, and fashion. It’s about breaking boundaries and challenging expectations, and you know I’m all about that!

It's definitely not always easy juggling two such diverse worlds but, honestly, I’d have it no other way. I truly love both! One world nourishes my love for creativity and expression, the other feeds my analytical mind. The challenge, I find, is keeping the two worlds separate while, secretly, trying to find those sneaky places where they meet and make magic!

The best thing, you know? All those magical experiences allow me to share the wonder of it all with you, right here in my blog. And I can’t wait to continue sharing my crazy adventures with you in the weeks to come!

See you next time, and always remember: Wear pink! ✨
