It’s your Pink Tutu Sparkles, back for another post on my ever-expanding pink-tutu-fied world! And today, it’s all about Scarborough, baby! 🎉 This coastal gem is calling my name and, trust me, I'm answering!
So, the journey started, as it often does, with a train ride. It’s my absolute favourite way to travel; I get to kick my feet up in my fabulous stilettos, admire the views, and maybe catch up on my fave drag queen podcasts – currently obsessed with 'Drag's the Word!' 🎤
Scarborough has a real 'vintage seaside charm' that’s got me totally buzzing! You know how much I adore a bit of old-school glamour! The architecture, the old-fashioned ice cream shops – it’s all giving me strong Mary Poppins vibes! 🪁
Now, you guys know I live for a good ballet performance, so imagine my excitement when I found out about this stunningly restored Edwardian theatre, the Stephen Joseph Theatre, right here in Scarborough. This venue is pure magic, a throwback to a time of dazzling costumes, theatrical romance and just a touch of old-school glamour! They’re doing a production of “Swan Lake”, and let me tell you, I’m dying to see it. I’m pretty sure my tutu will practically levitate itself into the theatre come Friday!
Speaking of tutus, let’s get down to business, darling. My mission? To spread the love and joy of the pink tutu to every corner of the world. I’m determined to convince everyone, from the Queen to the checkout girl at Sainsbury’s, that every outfit needs a touch of pink tutu fabulousness. 😉
Now, you’re probably thinking, "Alex, how does a science student get obsessed with pink tutus?" Well, let’s just say a certain university charity fundraiser sparked an interest... It started with a twirl, it ended with an explosion of pink sequins and a full-blown obsession. I'm talking a complete transformation – I became the science student by day, Pink Tutu Sparkles by night. It's an interesting dichotomy, don't you think? ✨
Scarborough's also giving me some serious inspiration for a new show! Think "Pink Tutu Under the Pier," filled with catchy tunes, playful tutus, and a pinch of magic ! This vibrant seaside town has a distinct spirit that I know will make its way into my next act.
I'm even thinking about whipping up some pink tutu crafts in my spare time to spread the joy and add some sparkly touches to my show. You know, DIY pom poms, glitter, and sequins? You bet! 💥
Oh, and if you're in Scarborough, check out the beautiful Scarborough Spa complex. It’s a breathtaking building filled with history and elegance. There's also the amazing Scarborough Museum which is filled with treasures! Plus, who doesn’t love fish and chips on the beach? And you can’t come to Scarborough without grabbing some traditional candy floss - I'll definitely be sporting a sugar high all week! 🍭
Now, let me fill you in on some fab events happening this weekend. It’s the Scarborough Fair and oh my god, it's looking AMAZING! Picture this: vintage stalls, local crafts, and a chance to get your hands on some unique pink tutu-related treasures! I'll be performing on the fair's main stage, so keep your eyes peeled for this pink tutu powerhouse! 👑
But the festivities don’t stop there. This Friday, it's the Scarborough Jazz Festival. I'm planning a fabulous outfit, complete with pink feathers, a sassy touch of fringe and enough sequins to make Elvis blush! The music, the energy – Scarborough knows how to celebrate in style. 💃
