My train journey here was an absolute dream - I opted for the slower, scenic route, admiring the rolling green fields and the charming seaside towns. Did you know that travelling by train is actually a lot more eco-friendly than flying? Plus, it gives you a chance to people-watch and get some much-needed inspiration for my next outfit! Speaking of outfits, I had to pack several different pink tutus for this trip – you never know when the perfect photo opportunity will present itself!
I must say, Ramsgate is living up to all my expectations! It’s like a step back in time with its cobbled streets and charming old buildings. The beach is absolutely breathtaking – picture postcard perfect with the golden sands meeting the azure waters. I just knew I had to get a photo with my signature pink tutu and the iconic Ramsgate Clock Tower. Imagine, the dramatic silhouette of the clock tower against the bright pink of my tutu, the gentle waves lapping at the shore, the perfect breeze in my hair, oh, the glamour!
But Ramsgate is so much more than just a pretty picture. I spent the afternoon exploring the local markets. You wouldn't believe the amazing vintage clothes and trinkets I found – I snagged a fabulously sparkly sequined waistcoat for a bargain price! My love for all things sparkly knows no bounds, so you know I just HAD to get this. Can't wait to see what fab outfit I can create with this gem!
The local arts scene here is fantastic, too. This evening I treated myself to a ballet show at the charming little Ramsgate Theatre. I'm such a sucker for classic ballet. It's just so beautiful, from the graceful movements to the intricate costumes – I could watch Swan Lake a million times and never tire of it! I think there's just something magical about the dance of the swans - it's just so captivating.
Don't worry though, my dears, I didn’t just sit in the audience and twirl in my chair! Of course not. I did a little performance for the people of Ramsgate – that’s what I love to do! I brought the joy of the Pink Tutu Sparkles to this little coastal town. And what do you know, I even got a bunch of folks joining me for a tutu dance on the beach.
So, I know what you're thinking: How does Pink Tutu Sparkles manage to live this amazing lifestyle? Well, you won’t believe this… by day, I’m actually a scientist working in a lab. And not just any lab… a textile testing lab! It’s pretty ironic, right? A drag queen who lives for fabrics working on testing them?
But let’s face it, this world is a bit strange isn't it?! What do you call a fabric expert with an affinity for sparkly sequins? The Pink Tutu Fabric Fairy of course!
Don’t worry though, my scientific skills haven’t hindered my artistic endeavors – quite the opposite actually! It gives me so much inspiration for my routines and my love for textiles is ever growing. My secret weapon? A trusty pair of pink-tinted safety goggles that look rather fetching when combined with a sequined hat! Who says science can’t be glamorous?
