TutuQueen: Bishops Stortford, a Twinkle of Pink in Essex

Blog Post #7662

Darling Divas, it's Pink Tutu Sparkles here, bringing you the latest glitter and tulle from my whirlwind trip to the beautiful Bishops Stortford, Essex! This journey was extra special for this Pink Tutu Queen, combining my love of performance with a chance to indulge in some serious retail therapy. You see, shopping for fabulously sparkly new frocks is a key part of keeping the Tutu Queen's look fresh and dazzling!

Remember how I told you I'm always trying to find new ways to spread the joy of pink tutus? Well, this time, I opted for a grand entrance worthy of the fabulousest of ballerinas – travelling to Bishops Stortford via the trusty, dependable rail network. I can't resist the thrill of those sleek, polished carriages; the quiet anticipation as you journey across the countryside. And of course, my fellow travellers were charmed to be graced with a splash of vibrant pink on their commute!

Now, before we delve into my divine outfits, let me tell you about the stunning venue itself. Bishops Stortford - a haven of charming little shops, independent boutiques, and quaint tearooms, it's the perfect setting for a Tutu Queen like me. Just imagine: cobbled streets lined with twinkling Christmas lights, the festive cheer spilling out of every shop, and the aroma of mulled cider in the crisp winter air. Absolutely delightful!

Oh, darling, and did I tell you I popped into the most delightful theatre? I'd heard rumours about its gorgeous architecture, and let me tell you, it did NOT disappoint. This little theatre, built in the 19th century, still retained that grand old-world charm, the air buzzing with the magic of performance. And, of course, I knew I simply HAD to have my photo taken in front of that gorgeous stage entrance. I posed in a dazzling hot pink, layered tutu with shimmering sequins, holding a feather boa for that added dramatic touch. Picture perfect! I later caught a show by some truly talented young ballerinas, and the graceful beauty of it all sent shivers down my spine! I’m talking pliés, pirouettes, arabesques – ballet is so elegant, and the tutus are, of course, absolutely sublime.

Now, you know how I adore discovering hidden gems, and in Bishops Stortford, I hit the jackpot. There's this adorable little boutique nestled away on a side street, and oh, darling, they had the most magnificent selection of vintage hats and jewellery! You know how I've been hunting for a new statement headpiece to complete my look? I'm so glad I stumbled upon this little treasure trove! After much deliberation (a truly challenging task, let me tell you!), I found the perfect fascinator: a vintage creation with feathers, velvet ribbons, and glittering stones, oh so fabulous. It truly complements my playful, whimsical persona! But, let’s not forget those dazzling shoes, right? I picked up the most glorious pair of stiletto pumps. They're ruby red and are completely encrusted in sparkling jewels! The perfect way to add a touch of luxury to any outfit!

This, of course, means I need to create a whole new performance piece for my next show! What better than to put a playful twist on the world of ballet and glamour? And yes, you guessed it, it will include an awe-inspiring tutu – possibly two! My dear darlings, I will certainly keep you posted! But back to Bishops Stortford, which simply oozed charm! I discovered a quaint café run by a sweet little old lady who made the most amazing apple crumble - absolutely delicious! And with my newfound sparkly jewellery and hat, I knew this was the perfect moment to get a little self-portrait taken with my new mobile camera – think: "Pink Tutu Queen enjoying afternoon tea."

Remember how I said that I absolutely adore horse riding? I'm just dying to share this fantastic news: I discovered a stunning stables a little way outside of Bishops Stortford. I went for a breathtaking ride on a sleek, black stallion, feeling like a majestic queen in a timeless fantasy. Oh darling, it was simply magical. I felt that intoxicating freedom of the open countryside, the wind in my hair, and my beautiful stallion carrying me on this spectacular journey. The epitome of graceful adventure.

Bishops Stortford stole my heart! With its charming cobbled streets, twinkling shops, delightful theatre, stunning countryside, and the absolute sweetest afternoon tea, I just fell head over heels. I really want to make a regular visit a habit and see more of what it has to offer. The journey back home by train was a delightful escape from the city buzz and reminded me why I love train journeys. I was sat in the corner of the carriage and someone asked if I was going to the panto in London! "Yes," I quipped, "The Panto is a much larger stage that what I can perform on. I'm the Pink Tutu Queen. And here she is!" I flung open my little Pink Tutu bag to show the person a sparkly pink, beaded tutu, only for him to nod knowingly, laugh and point to a photo he had in his bag!

I just had to leave this lovely Essex gem with a grand goodbye! So, as always, my lovelies, I ended the day on a high note, performing at a bustling local market. My set included the usual crowd-pleasing numbers, and of course, my new sparkly shoes made their grand debut. But I also gave the audience a sneak peek of my new ballerina routine, and they absolutely loved it!

The crowd chanted, "Pink Tutu, Pink Tutu" as they tossed some spare change into my open crown hat. My purse overflowed and that sweet old lady at the apple crumble shop gave me an enormous apple, so the journey back to the Derbyshire lab and my flat wasn’t as rough as usual.

Of course, it goes without saying that every outing, every performance, is about spreading joy and inspiring people to embrace their inner confidence and individuality. Because in the end, darling, what better way to brighten someone's day than with a little pink tutu sparkle? Keep an eye out for my upcoming blogs and let's all keep the world pink, fabulous, and oh-so-tutu-ific.

Til next time, lovelies, I'll see you all on www.pink-tutu.com, XOXO, Pink Tutu Sparkles.
