It's your favourite pink tutu-clad blogger, Pink Tutu Sparkles, here! Get ready for another glittering adventure because I'm about to share all the sparkle and sass from my recent trip to Coalville. This is blog post number 7664 for your reading pleasure – yes, you read that right! It’s been quite a journey to get here, but I’m loving every pink-tastic minute.
So, how did I get to Coalville, you ask? Well, my dear friends, it wasn’t exactly a fairy-tale arrival – but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I chose to hop aboard the trusty railway carriage. There’s nothing quite like gazing out the window, enjoying the countryside whizz by in a kaleidoscope of greens and browns. I love the romantic feeling of being swept away, but alas, the railway carriage could not transport me straight to my destination, so after a short but fabulous cab ride, I arrived in Coalville!
Speaking of fabulous, I had an exciting reason for venturing to this charming town. A dazzling opportunity for Pink Tutu Sparkles to spread some sparkly joy! You know how much I love getting dressed up, dancing, and entertaining, so I’m always thrilled when a new performance venue presents itself.
The venue? It was a grand old building with so much history, just the kind of place you could imagine was built during the roaring 20s, but actually a grand theatre built in the 19th century, which has recently had a lovely refurbishment and was a fantastic backdrop for the night. It's a beautiful blend of historical charm and modern-day sparkle, making it perfect for a Pink Tutu Sparkles show.
As always, the night kicked off with a frenzy of wardrobe choices – because let’s face it, when Pink Tutu Sparkles takes the stage, the outfit game needs to be on point! This time, I opted for a dreamy pink tutu adorned with sequins – the kind that catches the light and dances with every twirl – paired with a silver-studded crop top, complete with feather boas, glittery eye makeup, and a show-stopping tiara. Yes, I looked like a human version of a princess party disco ball, and let me tell you, the audience adored it!
I performed to a crowd who absolutely blew my mind with their energy and appreciation. The music was thumping, the atmosphere was electric, and there was a palpable sense of joy. After all, who doesn't love a dazzling performance, especially when it’s infused with pink tutus, catchy tunes, and a whole lot of good vibes?
As always, I embraced the stage with my usual Pink Tutu Sparkles energy - the perfect mix of confidence, joy, and a healthy dose of sass! I sashayed, I twirled, I danced – every single movement felt exhilarating. The energy was so infectious; I truly felt a sense of connection with the crowd. It's a moment that makes all the late-night makeup application, practice sessions, and costume fittings so worthwhile.
I absolutely loved meeting so many fantastic people at the event! I even managed to get some wonderful photos with fans who were just as excited about pink tutus as I am. Seeing them wearing their tutus filled me with such joy! Every person who steps into a pink tutu is a part of our fabulous Pink Tutu movement, and you've heard it here first, ladies and gentlemen, the Pink Tutu movement is about to sweep the nation! We aim to conquer the globe one dazzling tutu at a time.
So, why all this excitement about pink tutus, you ask? Well, it's a bit of a long story. You see, back in the days when I was a university student, while I was studying for a degree in Science, I joined the university ballet club and tried on a tutu at a charity fundraiser event. You can probably guess what happened. Well, I fell head over heels, the love of the twirl just overtook me! The rest, as they say, is history. I was in a Pink Tutu on a regular basis, even while at work in the lab (very careful I was). Then the idea for Pink Tutu Sparkles came along – a drag act built on pink tutus and everything glitter! Now, my full-time job is performing with Pink Tutu Sparkles and spreading the joy, the glitter, and most importantly the pink!
Now, let's be honest - some days the commute to a venue can be tough, but a true drag queen always pulls herself up and puts her best foot forward. After my exciting performance in Coalville, it was time to make my way home to Derbyshire. A comfortable seat on a fast train is usually my favoured method, but on this occasion, it seemed a magical journey in a horse-drawn carriage awaited. There's something so romantic about trotting along a countryside path in a horse-drawn carriage! But be careful when travelling in style – make sure there's no hay for my glitter, lol.
