So, when I saw a post about a beautiful ballet show in Droitwich, well, I just had to get there!
This little Derbyshire lass knows how to travel in style, and of course, there was only one way I was arriving in Droitwich. No, not a pink Rolls-Royce (though that's a definite goal!), I'm talking about my absolute favourite mode of transport - the glorious train! Imagine, rolling through the countryside, feeling the gentle breeze through my carefully crafted tulle as I gaze out at the passing scenery. I was truly living my best life!
Now, let’s talk tutus! Oh my darling dears, my wardrobe was a literal rainbow of pinkness for this occasion. I’d gone all out, picking out a new blush-pink tutu with layers upon layers of delicate, hand-sewn ruffles. This wasn’t just any tutu, oh no! This one was designed to have a subtle shimmer in the light, like a fairy's wing catching the sun's rays. On top of my magnificent tutu, I layered a custom-made pink sequin top with puff sleeves, creating the perfect balance of playful femininity and glamorous sophistication. You know me, always striving for that delicate dance between the whimsical and the chic.
You know what else makes my tutu-loving heart beat a little faster? I just love to see other people wearing tutus! Now, let’s be real, tutus aren’t exactly the everyday staple in your average fashionista's wardrobe. So when I saw a few people in Droitwich sporting pink, white, and even a bright, sunshine yellow tutu, you can bet I stopped for a chat. After all, a little bit of tutu love is infectious!
And speaking of infectious, the ballet show itself was utterly mesmerizing. We were treated to a magical performance of the Sleeping Beauty, with exquisite dancing that had me truly enraptured. My visit to Droitwich wouldn’t be complete without a proper exploration, of course! So, after the show, I grabbed a tasty cup of tea and a homemade slice of Victoria sponge, and strolled along the streets. The charm of the place really is something special! I adored the pretty, old buildings, the cosy little cafes, and the quirky boutiques brimming with hidden treasures. You never know when you’re going to stumble across a little treasure. Speaking of hidden treasures, you wouldn't believe what I found: a tiny independent shop tucked away in a back street filled with the most wonderful vintage dresses and shoes! Talk about finding the perfect new additions to my wardrobe! I bought a shimmering coral vintage skirt, a stunning pair of silver, glitter-covered heels (the perfect sparkle for my evening routine), and a beautifully delicate lace scarf. Every single item was unique and truly delightful.
And what’s a trip to Droitwich without a visit to its famous salt cellars? Well, I took full advantage of the beautiful, salty air and took a gorgeous stroll along the brine spa for a touch of wellness (the air smells incredibly salty!). Plus, I love those vintage signs from the salt baths.
The whole experience truly reinforced my belief: tutus bring joy wherever you go. From the dazzling stage to the quaint, historic streets of Droitwich, the magic of a tutu has no boundaries!
