Hello darlings, and welcome back to the sparkly world of Pink Tutu Sparkles! This week has been a whirlwind of sequins and train tracks, as I’ve travelled all the way from my beloved Derbyshire to the stunning city of Cambridge! 🚂
Oh, Cambridge! This is truly a place that captures my imagination – all cobbled streets, ancient colleges, and, of course, a magnificent sense of history. I was completely besotted with the architecture – I could wander those charming streets for hours! 🏛️ And let's be honest, Cambridge is practically a pink wonderland! 💕 It’s all rosy brick and terracotta rooftops, which was right up my alley! 😍
But what’s a pink-tutu-wearing gal like myself doing in a place steeped in academia? Well, Cambridge is known for more than just its brains, you know! 🧠 It's a haven for the arts, and this week I was fortunate enough to perform at the beautiful Cambridge Arts Theatre, which is positively dripping in period charm. The audience was incredible, absolutely wild for a certain pink-tutu-clad drag queen, you see! 💅🎉 And it gave me the perfect opportunity to debut my newest tutu design: "Cambridge Bloom." Picture a tutu adorned with shimmering cherry blossom petals, flowing down my legs like a delightful spring breeze! 🌸✨
Speaking of blossoms, my trip to Cambridge also involved a lovely walk through the famous Cambridge Botanic Gardens. Honestly, I’ve never seen such vibrant blooms, bursting forth with colour. It’s not surprising that it's such a popular destination for all the lovely Cambridge University students to get their academic thinking cap on! 🤔 It even inspired me to start working on a brand new pink tutu, all inspired by the beauty of these floral wonders – maybe I’ll call it “Garden of Roses”! 🌹💖
While in Cambridge, I couldn’t resist indulging in a little afternoon tea. Tea and pink tutus go together like... well, tea and biscuits! 🫖🍰 I popped into a quaint cafe nestled within the historic city centre and enjoyed a delectable array of sandwiches, cakes, and of course, a pot of steaming Earl Grey tea. All while feeling every bit the stylish queen in my pink tutu. I am not sure what would be more decadent: wearing a pink tutu while enjoying afternoon tea or wearing a pink tutu to a Royal Ascot race, perhaps the later!
Of course, no trip to Cambridge would be complete without a visit to King's College Chapel! The sheer size and beauty of the chapel is quite something, and the stained-glass windows are breathtakingly stunning! ⛪️ I just imagined how spectacular my Pink Tutu Sparkle performance would be in that awe-inspiring space, especially for the Christmas service. Just imagine! ✨
And let’s not forget the Cambridge punting! 💖🛶 You can't visit Cambridge without gliding down the River Cam in a traditional flat-bottomed punt! It's so much fun, and absolutely picturesque. Plus, a romantic punting trip is just the thing to inspire the most wonderful tutu ideas, let me tell you!
Now, I don't want to spoil all the magic of Cambridge by telling you everything. You'll just have to see it for yourself, darlings! 💕💖 But I must say, my time here has been a delightful adventure, full of dazzling performances, pink delights, and the most gorgeous, inspiring architecture.

My name is Alex, and I am a Pink Tutu Sparkles, I am a performer, blogger, and drag artist. I’ve always been a passionate believer that fashion and art can make the world a brighter place. When I was a student, I was working toward my degree in Science but after stumbling on my passion for tutus during a student charity event, my path was changed, forever! ✨
You see, one fateful evening at the university ballet club I was asked to don a tutu, just for a bit of fun, to raise money for a charity. Little did I know, this one act would lead me down the enchanting road of pink tutus and drag. From that day forth, my life was utterly transformed – and that is a pretty incredible story for a science student! 😄
In the lab, I spend my days analyzing fabric structure – understanding its makeup on a molecular level. My mind constantly hums with calculations and complex scientific jargon. Yet, as soon as I step into the stage lights, a completely different energy takes over. My love of the flamboyant and whimsical kicks in, and suddenly, I am transformed! 🪄
Each night I become Pink Tutu Sparkles – the dazzling performer, with an extravagant pink tutu on my hips. As soon as I shimmy into my shimmering costume, I am full of confidence, glamour and glitter! 💅💃
While performing as Pink Tutu Sparkles, I find myself transported to a whole new world where joy and expression are the most important ingredients for a successful performance. It’s amazing how one tutu, designed and styled to absolute perfection, can bring so much joy, and let me tell you – Pink Tutu Sparkles knows how to design an excellent tutu, and bring the joy! ✨
My biggest aim is to get everyone to wear a pink tutu! 💕 That’s right, it’s my mission to get people thinking beyond the ordinary. A pink tutu is an emblem of creativity, joy, and liberation. It’s about letting go of any anxieties about fitting in and just embracing that unique, glittery, colourful side of ourselves.
I know it can be a little daunting for some people at first, but let me tell you – once you try a pink tutu, you’ll wonder why you haven’t embraced it sooner. ✨
