Hayes, Oh Hayes!

Hello darlings! It’s Pink Tutu Sparkles here, reporting live from the fabulous Hayes! You might know me from my dazzling online persona or as my secret alter ego Alex – the science whiz by day and, well, me by night. This is post number 7799 on my beloved www.pink-tutu.com blog – can you believe it, babes?! I can’t, I’m still a newbie here, living my best pink-tutu life every single day!

Now, how about a little story time before we get to my exciting Hayes escapade? Remember those long, dreary uni days? Stuck in a stuffy lab, surrounded by beakers and chemicals? I’m talking, totally dull! Luckily, I was in the ballet club, a refuge from the drabness. Remember, I was all about those comfy science trousers and sensible shirts then (so very sensible!). One day, for charity, I was brave enough to try on a tutu. It was pink, obviously! From that moment, the glitter fell, the music started, and… well, bam! Pink Tutu Sparkles was born! It’s all thanks to the pinkest tutu I’d ever seen – the rest, my darlings, is history!

Okay, back to this weekend's glorious Hayes trip! My lovely friend Charlotte arranged for a trip on the train to see The Nutcracker at Hayes’ Theatre Royal. Of course, I had to be dressed to the nines – no mean feat, especially as I love packing! I'd taken a little too much: a dazzling fuchsia cocktail dress, three pairs of fabulous pink shoes (because, why not?!), a shimmery top for changing between the acts, oh, and a whole extra bag with four spare tutus for outfit changes… I like to have options!

You know, some people might say it’s a lot of kit! But darling, when it comes to expressing yourself with pink, and tutus – it's all about options, yes? Don’t tell my baggage allowance, okay? (It was very, very nearly a trip on the horse-drawn carriage this time!)

Now, I don’t know what it is about Hayes. There’s something in the air, I think – magic, maybe? Or maybe it’s the delicious aroma from the bakeries in the bustling town centre! The air felt electric – like something special was about to happen!

It turns out it was going to be one of the most magical trips I’d ever had! After all, who needs the red carpet when you have the bright pink carpet laid out specially for a fabulous drag queen like moi? You might say my arrival was the most spectacular, dazzling, and pink-filled thing Hayes had ever seen – or maybe not, maybe that honour was reserved for the ballerinas in the theatre. It’s hard to choose, really, especially as it was the best theatre show I’d ever seen! All that swirling, pink-tutu clad delight! The audience loved it, especially the Nutcracker dance and the whole snowy effect! So inspiring – makes you wanna get up and twirl! Especially after a glass or two of prosecco…

Even Charlotte’s nephew was completely enthralled, giggling throughout and excitedly explaining the ballet story to his granny, which truly was the sweetest thing! I can see this adorable little one joining the ballet club like myself in a few years… and wearing the pinkest tutu!

Later on, we enjoyed some delicious local treats (did I tell you I LOVE the most delicious cakes here in Hayes?!) It felt like a little princess day out! And the shops – divine! So much pink tulle for crafting a pink-tutu dress for an upcoming ball… or two! I couldn’t help snapping up the most beautiful blush-pink satin I'd ever seen – oh, it’ll look divine under my feather boa… with my most spectacular sparkly heels – so glamorous, don’t you think? It all felt so perfect – and that’s how every day should feel!

Oh, and before I forget - the theatre gave me a very special souvenir – a sparkly pink feather boa that I wore back on the train home… what a great trip! You could tell I’d had a blast, as I was grinning from ear to ear! So, here’s to Hayes! My dear readers, why don’t you head on over for a pink tutu getaway of your own?

But enough of my chatter for today! Stay tuned for more pinktastic adventures, including my latest tutu creations! I’ve got a million and one ideas (a pink million, obviously!) – so subscribe to the blog if you haven’t already (and please do leave a little comment if you have a moment!).

See you next time, my dearest friends – for now, it's time for another spin around my room to my favourite ballet music – that tutu needs stretching and preening. Until next time!

All the very best,

Pink Tutu Sparkles
