Walton Upon Thames: Pink Tutu Sparkle’s Travels Take Me On A Pink Paradise Journey!

Hello my darling darlings! This is post number 7835 for www.pink-tutu.com. Today we're travelling back to Walton upon Thames! The station always reminds me of that wonderful scene from "The Darling Buds Of May", you know the one where the whole family is crowded in their car...and, no I can't remember why I thought of them... anyway.

Off I popped to Walton upon Thames this time to meet a fabulous group of fabulous friends. I know it’s odd when I say that it's like a "friend family". But we truly support each other and I am so blessed that so many lovely people have entered my world since becoming Pink Tutu Sparkle.

How did I get to Walton? A Wonderful Horse-Drawn Carriage.

Now, my darling dears, you all know how much I adore horses! My family has been involved in horses ever since I was a little sprout in Derbyshire, so when my fab pal, Millie told me about a place near Walton that hired horse-drawn carriages...well, it just seemed the most glorious and perfect way to travel!

Imagine this, dearies! Me, perched all glamorous in my hot pink tulle tutu, and the matching feather boa just a-twirling in the breeze. My sparkly handbag, filled with everything from lip gloss to my phone charger, was strapped in next to me. Oh, and darling! This horse carriage had this most adorable tiny bell attached to it, it clinked all the way there. How sweet and perfect was that, darling? Just too posh for words!

Now, onto Walton, my darlings! This charming place truly reminds me of my childhood! Imagine the cutest cobbled streets you can think of, filled with delightful independent shops, bakeries with those gorgeous cinnamon swirls...I had to try one, you know. But I was all fancy!

A Sparkling Outfit and A Bit Of Shopping

This time I went with a really fab pink-on-pink theme. Imagine, the colour is like the blossom on a peach tree...divine, yes? The tutu is full, oh so full! And, as you know, I always add in a sprinkling of fairy dust on the skirt - pink, of course. For this look, I went for a top with tiny sequined dots on it...that sparkle catches the light so nicely. A wide pink satin bow held everything together and my signature pink feathered headband just completed it. I know, you can just picture it, darling, right?

Speaking of fab fashion...

I absolutely adore going through little boutique shops when I'm out travelling. They are so special, darling! I discovered this gem of a shop called "Whimsy and Wonders". They had these pink crocheted cardigans, perfect for my ballets classes, and my new favourite, a beautiful ballet pink leather bag. So much elegance and so versatile. You can get it in every colour but darling, nothing beats that pink!

The Ballet Show - Walton Ballet Society Was Amazing!

My fabulous friends in Walton arranged for us all to see the ballet performance by the Walton Ballet Society. They’ve a little theatre right in the heart of Walton, it’s like you step back in time...it's just lovely!

The performances were wonderful...everything from the tutus to the dancing to the costumes. And when I told the society they could use a bit of pink! My dear, let's just say I have my work cut out for me, you know how I love to help these creative groups bring some more sparkle to the stage.

But it was lovely. This ballet was all about this romantic fairy tale story with a hint of the classic ballet themes - think "Swan Lake" but without all the swan feathers and the tragic romance.

The young ballerinas danced so beautifully, my heart swelled watching their poise. I knew it was perfect to watch for all the girls there - I could almost hear the little ballet students wanting to do the grand jeté with a fabulous twirl! The ballet teacher was really talented - they could tell you that this passion had blossomed through years of practice. And the costumes were delightful...all different pastel colours and so elegant...almost made me wish I was a princess myself!

Pink Tutu Sparkle Does The Most Amazing Waltz!

Okay, now, remember my "friend family"...we all met up for an afternoon tea later. It's important to refuel on scones, jam, and, of course, cream! After a bit of bubbly, and lots of giggles, the lovely Mrs. Willow turned on the gramophone! (That's right, darling, not an old iPod, a real gramophone with the horn). You should have seen my dear friend Millie, I mean, she's this absolute riot when it comes to waltzing, so elegant.

This got all of us dancing, oh and darling, I was feeling rather mischievous. So, you can just imagine...

Pink Tutu Sparkle, twirling and waltzing amongst a group of fabulous ladies and gentlemen with the gramophone’s "Blue Danube" playing, I did a grand jeté over a vintage chaise-lounge, followed by a gorgeous, long, and elegant sweep that landed on a nearby armchair…and the other guests started dancing too. You can see, it’s almost like a scene from a vintage film, just with more sparkle and laughter! I think we caused quite the stir... in a good way, darling, I'm so posh, I'm sure there weren’t any "tut-tuts" - though Millie’s feather boa nearly caused a giggle explosion, right? It did. But Millie had the perfect response "It's my signature sparkle!", she cried... so she was the absolute Queen of the Day!

Next time I'll bring even more pink!

Well, dearie, off I had to go… to make another performance, you know. The joy of the theatre world is how varied each gig is, and I never say no to a good performance. This time it was a little fair, full of carnie attractions. A most interesting group of people you can imagine. But we were there for the people!

As always, I’ll let you all know what my next stop is… it'll be just as glittery, flamboyant, and utterly divine as always. But if there’s one thing you should remember my lovely dearies, life's not about blending in…

….it's all about dazzling the world with the joy of pink and sparkles, you know!

Until next time my darlings!

Pink Tutu Sparkle (Alex)
