Hey my darling tutu-loving sweeties! It’s your favourite pink-obsessed drag queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, here, signing in from Stratford Upon Avon! ✨
This is post number 7874 (woohoo! Is that a new record for me?) and it's bursting with sparkly goodness as I recount my recent trip to this magical town! Now, you know I'm all about tutus, ballet, and anything sparkly. So, naturally, I just had to visit Stratford, home to the iconic Royal Shakespeare Company and its beautiful Swan Theatre! 🦢
Let me tell you, I was practically bouncing with excitement when I stepped off the train (horse riding is still a little too high maintenance for this pink queen!). The cobbled streets were lined with charming shops and pubs, all decked out with Shakespearean references and lovely floral displays. Even the air itself seemed infused with a certain artistic charm, wouldn't you agree?
My day began with a trip to the Royal Shakespeare Company's theatre shop, where I found a whole treasure trove of glittery goodies. Imagine my delight when I spotted a miniature pink tutu for a doll - I snagged it in a flash, obviously. I then headed for a spot of lunch at a charming little café, indulging in a decadent slice of Victoria sponge with a giant dollop of cream - absolutely perfect for my afternoon ballet adventure! 🍰
After lunch, I ventured to the Swan Theatre, eagerly awaiting my first ballet performance since the lockdown. It was a stunning production of “Swan Lake”, the story of love and sacrifice - you know me, I’m all about a bit of dramatic romance!
The ballerinas were breathtaking, swirling across the stage in those incredible white tutus. They were like ethereal swans gliding through the water, and I must admit, I found myself daydreaming about donning a similar outfit and giving them a run for their money. However, my dazzling pink tutu felt quite at home amongst the classic elegance of the performance. A fabulous clash, you know? ✨
The energy inside the theatre was simply electrifying. Everyone was swept up in the magic of the story. And afterwards, as the lights dimmed and the applause subsided, I felt truly enchanted. It was as if Shakespeare himself had whispered secrets into my ear, inspiring me to channel my inner ballerina and sprinkle a bit of pink tutu magic onto this charming town.
Speaking of pink tutu magic, did you see my performance in the town square yesterday? I decided to surprise everyone with a little bit of "ballet street" - that's my brand, my darling, spreading tutus, sparkles and fun wherever I go! ✨
With a sparkly backdrop and a killer playlist, I shimmied, twirled and shimmied again for the crowd of locals, spreading joy and glittery enchantment. Of course, there were the obligatory tutus. Who needs flowers when you can have a whole crowd of sparkly tutu-wearing people, right? Honestly, they looked like the most glorious human-sized, mobile disco balls. My dream of getting everyone to wear a pink tutu is becoming a reality one glittery dance move at a time! 🩰 💖
You know I can’t travel to a place like this and not try out some of the local shops. After the dance, I hit the town's cute shops and managed to get myself a few fabulous souvenirs to commemorate this fabulous day. And I don’t know about you, but I reckon a souvenir pink tutu is an absolute must-have in Stratford! I mean, how much more on theme could it possibly be? 😉
By the end of the day, I was completely charmed by the beautiful sights and the magical atmosphere of Stratford Upon Avon.
