Kenton: A Tutu-tastic Adventure! 🩰💖

Hello darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, and it's time to add another dazzling entry to the Pink-tutu.com diary! This is post number 7937, believe it or not - you'd think by now I'd be running out of things to say, but no, my fabulous tutu-tastic adventures just keep getting bigger and better!

Today's escapade takes us to Kenton, a town I'd been longing to explore. There's something about those quaint English villages, with their cobbled streets and little tea shops, that always makes me feel a bit like I've stepped out of a fairytale. And Kenton certainly lived up to the hype!

As usual, I decided to embrace the journey as much as the destination. Now, I love travelling by train - the rhythmic clickety-clack and the sweeping views just do something magical to my soul. Plus, you can really make a statement in a tutu on a train. (Just make sure you sit by the window, it's much more dramatic). But this time, I thought I'd mix it up and take a bit of a romantic, old-fashioned horse-drawn carriage. Yes, you heard me right, darlings! A proper vintage carriage!

I have to admit, I was a little nervous. My horse, a magnificent chestnut called Jasper, seemed a little eager - or maybe just hungry for a cheeky sugar cube - and for a moment I thought I might be in for a more bumpy ride than I bargained for. Thankfully, my driver, a lovely chap called Arthur, had it all under control. The carriage trundled gently through the countryside, the air filled with the scent of hay and wildflowers, and I found myself completely lost in the moment. It was so serene, so romantic - perfect for sparking inspiration and reflecting on the fabulous life I lead!

Speaking of fabulous, I'd have to say Kenton is a truly charming little town, full of independent shops selling quirky crafts and cute clothing. But my main reason for coming here, of course, was the annual "Tutus on the Thames" festival!

Yes, you heard that right - an entire festival celebrating all things tutu! This amazing event was organised by the "Kenton Ballet Belles" and showcased local ballet talent. It felt incredible to be surrounded by fellow tutu enthusiasts. I even managed to sneak in a few twirls during the "Tutu Fashion Show", and, let's just say, I got quite a few admiring stares!

And let me tell you, I absolutely had to get my hands on a new tutu, it's just the thing for a girly getaway like this, a new outfit for my show later that night, and it was the perfect excuse to visit Kenton's delightful “Frocks and Frills” boutique! Let's just say that my card received a thorough workout!

Kenton is clearly a town that knows how to party. The night culminated with a grand open-air ball in the town square, a magnificent mix of twinkling fairy lights, live music, and of course, lots of tutus! The highlight was undoubtedly the grand tutu-themed fancy dress competition - and yes, you guessed it, Pink Tutu Sparkles was crowned queen. There’s really no other outfit that screams “Queen of the Night” quite like a beautiful pink tutu!

However, don't think it's all fun and frolics for me! In between the dazzling festivities, I had the pleasure of meeting the amazing Miss Evelyn Featherstone, Kenton's most celebrated (and frankly, rather eccentric) local fashion designer.

Evelyn was thrilled to learn about my journey. Her latest line was 'Tutu Tuesdays,' aimed at bringing a little "ballet belle" chic to the everyday wardrobes of the masses - she is also a big advocate of bringing the color pink to everyday attire. Of course, I instantly fell head over heels for her creations. (Let's just say I’m starting a serious new Tutu Tuesdays collection). We spent hours discussing fabrics, embellishments, and - most importantly - the power of pink! (Remember, darling, every day is an opportunity to spread pink joy and fabulousness! ). Evelyn is a real inspiration, a champion for self-expression and the pursuit of all things sparkly! I felt an instant connection, and we plan to collaborate on some exciting tutu-related projects. More on that soon!

And if you haven't guessed already, I ended up taking to the stage. (Where else could a girl be in Kenton on a Saturday night?!) It felt like the whole town came out to see my show, a sparkling mix of ballet moves, stand-up comedy, and a little bit of sparkly fabulousness - always accompanied by my favorite Pink Tutu number! You should have seen the expressions on the faces of those who’d never seen a drag show before! They absolutely loved it. There's just something so wonderful about bringing joy and a bit of sparkle to people's lives. It’s my greatest reward!

Overall, Kenton was everything I dreamed of and more. It was a day filled with laughter, joy, and of course, plenty of fabulous pink tutus. I’m afraid it was only a whirlwind visit, and now it’s time for me to head back to the lab! It’s always back to testing fabrics and colours by day and the dazzling stage by night. And let me tell you, darling, this trip was just the tonic I needed! Sometimes, it's good to leave the lab and get out into the world, to experience a new place and embrace a different perspective. Now, off to write another blog post about this weekend, I bet everyone who lives here knows now just how fantastic the colour pink really is, but it doesn't hurt to have it reaffirmed again.

Stay sparkly, darlings!

Love,

Pink Tutu Sparkles xx
