Tutu Tales from the Windy Capital: Wellington Wows with Pink Tutu Sparkles!

Helloooo darling Tutu-lovers! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, signing in from the breezy capital city of Wellington, New Zealand! I know what you're thinking: "Pink Tutu, in New Zealand? Surely that's too far even for a gal who loves tutus and travel as much as me!" But hold on to your pom-poms, because this pink princess just wouldn't miss out on a whirlwind trip down under, and trust me, darling, it's been a whirlwind indeed!

Firstly, the travel. Can we talk about this glorious train journey? Now, I know a lot of you might picture me hoofing it through the hills of Derbyshire, with a majestic stallion beneath me. Sadly, darling, New Zealand doesn't exactly offer a fleet of "pony taxis", but hey, this little Sparkles knows how to adapt.

Instead, I embarked on the scenic Southern Hemisphere Railway, a journey so picturesque it practically rivalled a grand ballet. I mean, come on! Rolling countryside, breathtaking mountains, the glittering turquoise ocean... It was as if the very landscape was giving me a private performance just for me!

But darling, the real drama starts the moment I hit Wellington. Let me tell you, this city has vibes, and by vibes, I mean that "it's got the most vibrant arts scene" kind of vibe. It's like stepping into a grand old theatre production. The architecture is fantastic, a bit like stepping into a period film!

Naturally, as a ballet buff with a passion for the dramatic, this little Sparkles HAD to find a way to see a show. Thankfully, darling, my research turned up the wonderful New Zealand Ballet. You bet your bottom dollar I was seated front row center, watching graceful figures float across the stage in elegant tutus, feeling that familiar thrum of inspiration course through me.

I’ve already got my eye on the tutu selection for my next show. Maybe I'll incorporate some New Zealand inspired feathers or design motifs – imagine, a little bit of Maori art, a touch of the mountain ranges, all in shimmering, glamorous pink, of course! Oh the possibilities...

But darling, this trip wasn’t just about admiring balletic excellence, no, no. As a bonafide Drag Artist, a queen of all trades, I knew this vibrant city demanded my full-on dazzling spectacle! My journey to the Wellington Museum to witness their outstanding fashion exhibition had a detour; naturally, a showstopper needs an outfit that makes a statement, a dress fit for a diva, right? So off I popped to a boutique just begging to be discovered. And guess what I found? The most amazing shimmering hot pink gown, *with a detachable skirt made of, wait for it… sequins! Imagine my delight, a pink tutu with sparkles on sparkles, absolutely heavenly!

This Pink Tutu Sparkles was ready to unleash her inner goddess, and darling, the show must go on, don’t you think? I made my way to the famous Wellington Waterfront, its vibrant atmosphere and street art an excellent backdrop for my very own Pink Tutu show, where I brought the streets alive with a flurry of twirls and pink perfection.

And you know what, darling? It was an absolute blast! The locals absolutely loved it. One little girl in the audience even had her own little pink tutu on! Seeing those delighted faces, those tiny eyes sparkling with glee, that’s what it's all about. Making the world a little bit brighter, a little bit more joyful, a little bit more Pink!

As my Wellington adventure winds down, it leaves me thinking, perhaps this trip wasn't just about sharing the pink tutu magic; maybe it was a little bit about showing those beautiful Kiwi folks that you can chase your dreams anywhere, you know, with a touch of sparkle and a whole lot of Pink Tutu Love!

Till next time darlings,

Pink Tutu Sparkles xoxo
