Hello, darlings! It's your favourite pink-tutu-wearing, sparkle-loving Queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, reporting live from the enchanting city of Carlisle! Can you believe it's my 8081st blog post already? I feel like I've just begun my fabulous journey through the world of tutus and glitter!
Oh, Carlisle, you’re a charmer, I tell you! A mix of historical charm and bustling city life, with just a hint of that Northumbrian wildness, you really do have it all. And the weather has been simply divine! Sunshine enough to make even a reluctant petal blush, with a little wind to keep things exciting, it's perfect for twirling in a tutu, my loves!
Now, before we get into the fabulosity that was this trip, I just have to say a big shout-out to the amazing team at the Carlisle Theatre. You truly outdid yourselves! Hosting me and my glitter bomb of a performance was an absolute delight! The stage was positively magnificent – enough room for even the most extravagant pirouettes! And the crowd! Oh, the crowd! Absolutely phenomenal! I think they may have just broken my personal record for biggest “You go, girl!” cheers. It truly warmed this little tutu queen's heart.
Speaking of warmth, my loves, let’s talk outfit! I was channelling a delicate ballet-meets-rock-star vibe, if you know what I mean. Imagine this: a frothy, pale pink tulle tutu with delicate floral embroidery, a sparkling bodice that looked like a constellation of twinkling stars, and… drumroll… a statement biker jacket adorned with more sparkly bits than you could shake a feather boa at! A little touch of rebel glam for the fierce heart of this queen!
Now, the trip to Carlisle was truly a treat! Arriving by train was such a lovely, quintessentially British experience! Snuggling in with my giant, fluffy pink suitcase and watching the landscape blur into a romantic haze. And let's not forget about the delectable pastry selection! I may or may not have devoured a croissant and a raspberry Danish, all while wearing my tutu and perfecting my stage makeup! Who needs high tea when you've got pastry and a perfectly-timed Instagram moment?
This trip also featured an extra special activity: I had the pleasure of attending a delightful ballet class at the renowned Carlisle School of Dance! And oh my darlings, it was truly magical. They welcomed me with open arms, literally - their lovely embrace was practically overflowing with positive vibes! It was wonderful to be among fellow tutu enthusiasts, soaking in all the graceful movements and, of course, showcasing my signature twirling skills. We even practiced a new routine – a sparkly combination of elegance and exuberance! You'll just have to wait and see what that involves – it’ll be a big reveal on a future blog post!
After the class, we were treated to a delicious potluck dinner with some of the other dancers and staff at the school. Now, don't judge me, but there might have been a slight 'pink cake mishap'… but hey, what's life without a little glitter bomb excitement?! Thankfully, all was forgiven – they understood the gravity of a truly good, pink cake, which, for me, means, well, a really really good, pink cake!
Speaking of the fabulous city of Carlisle, the entire place just oozed an intoxicatingly charming atmosphere. Cobbled streets, quirky shops with a colourful explosion of vintage finds, charming tea rooms overflowing with pastel delights... I absolutely had to get my shopping on! The antique shops were absolutely full of beautiful vintage accessories that will give my future stage outfits that extra oomph, plus I managed to get my hands on the most exquisite pearl-encrusted headpiece, guaranteed to take my next performance to another level! Oh, and did I mention that I found a darling vintage, pink, tulle, beaded scarf, absolutely perfect for my signature twirl!
So there you have it, darlings! Another adventure filled with pink tutus, sparkly surprises and even a slight (pink) cake-induced crisis. What else could a girl ask for?
