This week, I’m channeling my inner explorer, and embracing the charm of this unique town.
Rugby’s famous rugby union team, Rugby Football Club, has been around for centuries. Their legacy is felt throughout the town, in museums, shops, and even in the very streets! But don't think that’s all Rugby has to offer. My dear dears, there’s so much more waiting to be discovered – hidden corners, secret gardens, and even some delightful shops with the most exquisite fabrics!
Speaking of fabrics, you know your Pink Tutu Sparkles is all about them! Remember how I became obsessed with pink tutus while studying for my science degree? Well, my love for sparkly fabrics extends far beyond just tutus.
A Pink Dream: Shopping for the Perfect Outfit
This trip is all about pink and feathers! So, naturally, the first stop was a visit to The Fabric Corner – a hidden gem tucked away on a quaint street. It’s the perfect haven for all things beautiful and sparkly! I managed to score some luxurious pink silk to design a new pair of dazzling gloves, and some stunning turquoise velvet for a statement tutu bodice! Can’t wait to put those to good use on the dance floor tonight.
And wouldn’t you know it, they had a whole rack dedicated to lace and chiffon! My heart fluttered like a bird taking flight. Honestly, I could spend days browsing through that shop – or maybe even years!
A Tutu for a Queen
The best part of my day, however, was the tutu hunt! It was a pink tutu pilgrimage, my dears. You know, you can never have too many tutus, especially when they’re pink! I visited a charming little vintage boutique called Belle Epoque and fell in love with the most delightful pink tutu! It's adorned with hand-sewn lace, layers upon layers of shimmering tulle, and has the softest, fluffiest lining. It’s definitely my new go-to for next week’s performance. I mean, come on, it's practically a tutu made for a queen!
Afternoon Tea and Tutu Inspiration
No trip to Rugby would be complete without a classic afternoon tea. Luckily, Rugby has a plethora of delightful tearooms with scrumptious cakes, freshly baked scones, and finger sandwiches. My favourite has got to be The Tea Pot – they offer the most divine strawberry and champagne scones! Absolutely perfect after a long afternoon of exploring and shopping!
It’s in places like these, with their pretty china cups and delicate cakes, that my mind whirls with ideas! They bring to life visions for new and exciting stage costumes. I can practically see it: a tutu-inspired pink tea dress adorned with silver feathers!
Ballet Dreams in Rugby
As you know, Pink Tutu Sparkles is obsessed with ballet! And imagine my delight when I stumbled upon a hidden ballet studio called The Swan Theatre. The studio was an old, stately Victorian building with charming cobbled courtyards, but don’t be fooled, this building boasts a state-of-the-art theatre stage and dance studio! I couldn’t resist taking a few spin classes! The ballet teachers were amazing, with their passion and expertise! I was mesmerized by the grace of their movements!
You see, the true beauty of ballet lies not only in the elegance of the dance but in the connection between dancers and their tutus! Imagine twirling across the stage, surrounded by the symphony of tutus billowing and swirling in a sea of vibrant colour! Just thinking about it sets my heart ablaze!
Bringing Pink Tutu Magic to the Town
As you know, Pink Tutu Sparkles is all about spreading positivity and a touch of magic wherever I go! And, what better way to do that than with a spectacular show right here in Rugby? I’ll be hosting a spectacular evening of fun and feathers at The Old Town Hall – it’s a beautifully decorated old hall that will be the perfect stage for a truly magical performance!
The theme, you ask? You know it – all things pink and tutu! Think shimmery, twirling, sparkling extravaganzas, a cavalcade of colour, and performances that will make you laugh, cry, and dance till your hearts are content.
