This time, my journey started in a flurry of feathers and tulle, a fitting way to embark on this whimsical adventure. You see, I was fortunate enough to land a gig at the fabulous Kettering Town Hall. They've got this grand ballroom, absolutely perfect for a dazzling drag show, and it’s even better with me, Pink Tutu Sparkles, lighting up the stage.
But before we get to the show, let’s talk about how I got there. It all started with a good old-fashioned train ride! There's just something magical about trains, the rhythmic click-clack, the views flashing by, the anticipation building with every station. I was feeling positively glamorous, sipping on my pink lemonade, watching the world roll by from my window seat. It felt like a scene out of a film, and I'm not talking about any ordinary film. Picture, if you will, a pink and sparkly montage featuring the finest train journeys of all time. Ahem Now, where were we?
Yes, my journey led me to Kettering, and oh, what a vibrant town it is! I can't tell you how much I adore exploring new places, taking in the local vibes, and seeing all the gorgeous sights.
After checking into a lovely B&B with a charming host who gave me a little history lesson about the town, I decided to take a stroll through the bustling market square. I saw people going about their day, buying their fresh produce, laughing, and catching up. I found a little bakery with the most divine-looking strawberry tarts, so I couldn't resist indulging. Let me tell you, it was a dream in every bite!
Then it was time for my dress rehearsal! Now, as you know, I'm all about creating a spectacle, and for my Kettering performance, I was thinking something truly magical. Something that captures the essence of this charming town, something that sparkles like a pink diamond under the Kettering sky. I knew just the right ensemble, complete with feathers, a dazzling tiara, and, of course, the most gorgeous pink tutu I could find.
And guess what, darlings? The show went off with a bang! The energy in the room was electrifying, everyone was on their feet, dancing and singing along. The lights were dazzling, the music was pumping, and I was twirling, shimmying, and shimmering, delivering every bit of glamour and sass I had. I can't tell you how much joy I felt on that stage, sharing my passion with such a lovely audience.
After the show, I enjoyed a delicious three-course meal with my favourite local drag queens and we shared some wonderful stories and laughs. It was the perfect end to a perfect day.
Speaking of my favourite local queens, this brings me to an important topic: building the local drag scene. There is nothing I love more than seeing drag flourish in new communities! From small towns to big cities, my dream is to get everyone in every town wearing pink tutus!
