Coalville: A Tutu-ful Day Out! šŸ’–šŸ©°

Hello lovelies, and welcome back to Pink-Tutu.com! Today's post is a right corker, as Iā€™m buzzing from my latest trip to Coalville - tututastic! āœØ This is post number 8180 for your little Pink Tutu Sparkles - how fabulous!

Coalville, my darlings, is a town in Leicestershire that, until recently, hadnā€™t made it onto my travel radar. But you see, a queenā€™s gotta be adaptable - Iā€™m here to grace the stage and sprinkle some glitter, regardless of postcode, darlings. This particular gig came through a bit by chance, a local dance studio heard about my little Pink-Tutu Sparkles act, and invited me down to bring the sparkle!

Speaking of sparkles, let me tell you - I chose the absolute perfect look for Coalville! šŸ’– We're talking a dreamy hot pink tutu with layers and layers of tulle. This time it was adorned with silver, iridescent glitter. It literally shimmered and twinkled under the stage lights, just as it should! Iā€™m living for those kind of light effects, the ones that give a little bit of magic to the show!

Oh, and my darling, the shoes. They were EVERYTHING! These little beasties had the shiniest hot pink patent leather you ever did see! And thatā€™s not forgetting my absolutely adorable pink sequined top! I knew instantly it would look heavenly with the tutu! You guys know I love a colour-coordinated ensemble!

Anyway, before we talk more about my performance, letā€™s go back a bitā€¦ You see, getting to Coalville involved a whirlwind of travel!

The Journey: Train Travel With A Tutu

Iā€™ve always adored travelling, particularly on trains! I love watching the world go by from the window. Of course, my little pink tutu and sparkly outfit came along for the ride. Trust me, travelling in a full-blown drag outfit can get interesting Iā€™ve had a few good old fashioned, letā€™s say ā€œunpleasantā€ stares on the train before now. But for some reason, I get fewer awkward looks these days! People just seem more used to seeing drag queens about and about! Which, letā€™s be honest, is exactly the way it should be!

We boarded the train from Chesterfield. Itā€™s about an hour from Derby, where I'm from. (You already know Derbyshire is my heartland - so many pretty villages, rolling hills and cute countryside pubsā€¦and if you need convincing, have a peek at the scenic routes around the Peak District - absolutely dreamy!). Anyway, this particular journey went down without a hitch - not even a momentā€™s delay, darling! šŸ™Œ It did give me a chance to admire all the passing landscapes though! Such lush green fields! And rolling hills. Divine.

But my travel adventures didn't stop there! Oh, darling, remember that adorable pink carriage I have! Thatā€™s right - my four-legged friend ā€œTwinkle Toes,ā€ our miniature shire horse. You see, to get from the station in Coalville, to the dance studio, there was about a mileā€™s walk! That little beauty towed my makeup case all the way. It was quite the sight. I am telling you!

Oh, I almost forgot to mention! Just before I hopped off the train in Coalville, some random strangers even asked for a quick photo with me and my makeup case. Apparently, it does stand out! A girlā€™s gotta be a trendsetter! šŸ˜„

A Performance For the Ages

Okay, I promise I will get to my dance studio performance, my loves! This is a Pink Tutu Sparkles blog post after all! šŸ˜„

Well, after all that travelling - and a bit of reapplying some pink blusher for that picture - I made it to the Coalville Dance Studio. The whole experience was just delightful. The children in the class loved seeing me! So, for the day I was not just performing, I also had an impromptu dance workshop - teaching them some signature Pink Tutu Sparkles moves, just like we teach those sassy squirrels at my weekly dance workshops in Derby.

To be honest, my darlings, they had me totally inspired, these little stars of the future! Some were even twirling around in little pink tutus - it truly was adorable. If I could, Iā€™d give them all little crowns of pink flowers and pink lipstick too. šŸ’• But remember those dance workshops in Derby? You might just get a glimpse of their moves here one day! šŸ˜‰

Letā€™s not forget what itā€™s really all about: my performance! Oh my darlings, I really brought it, I told you I loved that silver-sequined tutu with its glittering lights. But the really special part came in the finale! Just when everyone thought theyā€™d seen all there was to see, I pulled out my secret weapon ā€“ a pink confetti cannon! šŸŽ‰ Yes, you read that right! Pink! Confetti! Cannon! And of course, it was my very own, pink and silver design - what a tutu queen does! I'm very creative, arenā€™t I, my loves? šŸ˜

Let me tell you, the audience went wild! Everyone, even the mums and dads who thought it was a bit over the top (theyā€™re just jealous, honey), started clapping and cheering! I got a huge ovation. Even a few requests to throw out some more of that fabulous pink confetti for photos afterwards. Of course, darling! Thatā€™s the essence of Pink Tutu Sparkles! šŸ’–

You guys already know how much I love seeing kids dance! It fills my heart with joy! It reminds me that being passionate about ballet and dance really is the best feeling in the world, no matter your age!

Finding The Perfect Tutu:

A performance isn't a performance without a bit of prep time beforehand, now is it? So, we went for a delicious tea and scone at this lovely little vintage tea room that looked as if it had been taken from a page out of a Jane Austen novel - it really felt like that sort of afternoon tea kind of place, but with more glitter! I decided to wander through Coalvilleā€™s high street afterwards and I came across an absolute gem of a little vintage shop! You could say I was drawn in, like a moth to a flickering pink lightbulb. šŸ¤© There were some absolute gorgeous little trinkets to find there: beaded bracelets, porcelain figurines, silk scarves - and oh my gosh, you've never seen so many tutus in your life! The owner was so lovely too - really gave me a personal shopper experience. In the end, I walked out with a super cute pale pink vintage tulle tutu - thatā€™s for a bit later, I thought, I really want to put it aside for something very specialā€¦

After that delightful experience - with more pink tutus in my suitcase than my drag make up collection, mind you! (Is there ever such a thing? Of course not! ), I had the most fabulous trip back to Derbyshire by train - and, no prizes for guessing what! - It was sparkling from those pink glitter shoes. It did get a few glances! I always bring something to keep my spirits up during train journeys! Maybe some pink biscuits, a magazine, a Pink Tutu Sparkles makeup compact or just a bit of pink eyeshadow for a top up, in case I have to stop at a station!

Now, if you will forgive my extravagance - that vintage pale pink tutu is going to be my new best friend - I already know! You've just gotta make sure the pink in your life is perfectly in sync, my loves, for a fabulous* week of sparkles. Thatā€™s all for this week. Donā€™t forget to subscribe to my website and don't miss me live in Derbyshire, for my dance workshops this Sunday, in Derby, as usual, where Iā€™ll be giving those squirrels a bit of a dance lesson! Until next week, keep twirling and stay beautiful! **Pink Tutu Sparkles loves you!! šŸ’– šŸ©° āœØ
