Whitley Bay Whirlwind: Pink Tutu Sparkles Takes on the Seaside!

Darlings! It's your favourite pink-tutu-toting, glitter-loving queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, reporting live from the breezy, beautiful beaches of Whitley Bay! This seaside town in Tyne and Wear has stolen my heart with its charming Victorian architecture, vibrant seaside scene, and – wait for it – its very own theatre! You see, my darlings, when it comes to me, a place isn't truly complete unless there's a stage somewhere nearby for a queen to shimmy!

Now, let's get right to the glitz, shall we? I woke up this morning to a symphony of seagull calls and the scent of salty air. I knew instantly – it was going to be a day filled with a whole lot of fabulousness! My favourite pair of pink ballet shoes (I love anything pink and ballet-inspired, you already know this) were polished and ready to hit the pavement.

After a quick breakfast of pink pastries (because, why not, darling?), I popped over to Whitley Bay's Grand Arcade. I'm a sucker for a bit of vintage fashion, and this arcade had rows and rows of vintage clothing boutiques just begging for a Pink Tutu Sparkles touch.

My mission? To find a showstopping ensemble to dazzle the seaside locals! The vintage stalls had a treasure trove of colourful silk scarves, sparkling jewels, and even a few stunning feather boas. But my eyes landed on a dress that was screaming my name - a bold, beautiful, blush-pink silk dress that danced with a hundred tiny sequins under the shop's lighting. This, my dears, was made for me! The moment I tried it on, I knew I was going to slay the seaside promenade in it.

Seagull Sass & Seaside Glamour

My new frock shimmering and I with a fresh dose of sparkle, I sashayed to the beach for my photo shoot! I just couldn't resist a few shots with the iconic Whitley Bay clock tower as a backdrop. A queen needs her iconic visuals, don't you agree?

Let me tell you, darling, the beach was positively brimming with activity. I witnessed some absolutely delightful seaside scenes, from the joyful shriek of a child chasing after a runaway beach ball to a group of ladies enjoying afternoon tea in the sunshine. I even got a playful peck on the cheek from a seagull – the cheekiest bird I've ever met! She seemed to appreciate my glittery outfit as much as I did.

My little jaunt was a success, but it wasn't just about finding the perfect frock and snapping pictures (though, darling, we all know how much I love that!). The sea air was a reminder of my own love for nature and adventure. Growing up in the countryside of Derbyshire, I spent my days dreaming of galloping across fields and stargazing with a horse as my companion. Even today, the thought of riding through fields in a floaty pink tutu gets my heart fluttering!

Whirlwind of Entertainment

But there was no time to be swept away by fantasies just yet! A drag queen always needs a stage to conquer. I arrived at Whitley Bay's Playhouse just in time for a stunning ballet performance, and oh, the joy! To witness such breathtaking grace and skill was an absolute treat! Watching the dancers glide across the stage with such elegance was like a visual symphony, and the emotion they conveyed through their movements touched me deeply.

Honestly, darling, it reminded me so much of my own early days in drag. I started performing back when I was in university. You see, back then, my life was all about lab coats and test tubes! I studied science and actually ended up working in a textile laboratory! Yes, darling, it was about as glamorous as you can get!

But deep down, I'd always harboured this burning passion for performance. It was sparked by a chance encounter with a bright pink tutu at a university charity event. The way it danced as I twirled? Absolutely magic! I knew in that moment, that I needed to unleash my inner performer, and Pink Tutu Sparkles was born.

Sharing the Sparkle

My travels as a drag queen have been a magical, whirlwind adventure so far, full of laughter, music, and glitter! My ultimate goal? To spread the love of tutus to everyone, darling! Pink or not, everyone looks stunning in a tutu, if I do say so myself! I believe everyone has a bit of sparkle inside them, and it's my mission to help them unleash it!

But it’s more than just glitter, honey! I love connecting with people, learning their stories, and seeing the world through their eyes. There's so much beauty to be found in the smallest details, in every nook and cranny of our fabulous world.

I am, and will always be, on a quest for new experiences and fabulous discoveries. If you see me out and about, darling, don't be shy! Come say hi! Let's have some fun and, maybe, even spark a conversation about pink tutus. I think you’ll find they are a great conversation starter. Until next time, darling, keep shining bright!

See you soon, Pink Tutu Sparkles.
