Wigston Magna: Tutu Time in the Midlands! 💖✨ (Post #8208)

Hello darlings! It's your favourite pink-tutu-wearing, sparkle-loving queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, bringing you another fabulous travel diary from the road!

Today, we're heading into the heart of the Midlands, to the charming town of Wigston Magna. Now, I know what you're thinking - "Wigston Magna? Seriously, Pink Tutu?" Well, hold on to your tiaras, darlings, because this little gem is full of surprises! And what's more, I managed to travel by both train AND horse! A true fairytale come to life, don't you think?

As you all know, I'm always up for a good adventure, and finding new venues to share my passion for tutus and sparkles. Wigston Magna might not be the most obvious choice for a pink-loving queen like me, but that's exactly why I loved it! I'm always up for a challenge, especially when it comes to spreading the tutu love!

Let's rewind back a little bit to how I even got to Wigston Magna. Picture it, your favourite drag queen, rocking a hot pink tulle creation (as always!), gracefully striding through London Victoria Station. I had booked a little last-minute show at the Wigston Magna Town Hall and the only thing quicker than the journey would be riding a pink unicorn. Sadly no unicorn rides this time! Instead, it was a fast train journey, I found the local market had the best smelling floral displays I've ever smelt in my life! I was quite smitten with the scent of fresh lilies and fragrant jasmine - such an opulent way to begin the journey.

Now, this is where things get really interesting. Remember, I love ballet. So, on my way to Wigston, I couldn't resist taking a quick detour to visit the Leicestershire Dance Academy. I just had to see their facilities, even for a little peek behind the scenes. This academy was incredible, it's run by a true master who taught some real life ballerinas that toured all over the globe. I got to chat to the manager, the cutest girl with a red-painted bow in her hair. And guess what? I even managed to squeeze in a quick private tutu lesson!

After I shimmied my way out of my mini tutu class, I knew I had to bring the Wigston Magna crowds something special. That's where the horses come in. (Remember how I love my horses! Who needs a chauffeur, when you have a perfectly good carriage!) My amazing tour guide at the Academy recommended this wonderful, and very local, company - it was the perfect way to make an entrance at the Town Hall! I must admit, there's nothing quite as grand as arriving at a show on horseback. I just hope the crowds loved my dramatic entrance!

After the grand reveal, I gave it my all at the town hall! The crowd was fabulous, full of such fun energy, I felt their excitement from the stage. They even gave me a warm round of applause when I talked about my ballet class. We had some real laughs, sang along to my pink-tutu-themed classics, and they all loved when I did a quick tutu twirl or two. I just love those moments when I know that I'm helping someone discover the magic of the pink tutu!

That night, I even ended up having dinner at the local pub, where I spotted some fabulous fashion ideas. I’m all for repurposing and styling, it doesn't take much to make a piece of vintage fashion look brand new, it’s just about finding the right colour scheme. It doesn't matter if it's pink or black or blue or anything else, I think vintage fashion is just as stylish as the latest designer trends, but with a whole new kind of sparkle. That is if you’ve got the right fabric and that is what I’m here for. By day I’m in the lab testing different fabrics, by night I am sharing the fabulous life of a tutu queen.

The people at the pub were incredible! So friendly, open-minded, and supportive of a fabulous queen in a pink tutu! That's what I love about this whole travelling adventure - meeting so many new people and sharing the magic of pink tutus.

Wigston Magna, you have been nothing short of brilliant. A beautiful town with beautiful people, incredible local history and oh-so-stylish locals!

But wait, there's more! I just couldn't leave without visiting a beautiful, centuries-old English garden called, wait for it... The “Pink Gardens”! Can you imagine a drag queen's excitement, going to the Pink Gardens? It was all the way in nearby Leicestershire. Well, my journey involved a rather unique mode of transportation that had my pink tulle flapping like a fabulous flag! The manager at the Leicestershire Dance Academy, gave me a lovely ride, she is a true local so she knows all the little side streets, and you know what? We managed to get a really lovely, peaceful drive with only a couple of tractors on our journey. And of course, I did my bit for promoting pink by encouraging everyone to take photos of the stunning gardens.

This has truly been a fantastic experience, full of lovely people, fascinating stories, and of course, a lot of pink tutus. I'm already dreaming up my next trip and thinking of new places to share the magic of pink tutus. But remember, darling, no matter where you are or what you're doing, always make sure you rock that pink tutu with confidence! And don't forget to stay tuned for my next travel diary. You wouldn't want to miss it!

Love, sparkle, and tutus!
