Hello my gorgeous darlings! 👋 It’s your girl Pink Tutu Sparkles, and it's time to grab a cuppa, settle in and prepare for a right royal good time! You know how much I love a bit of travel, and this time, my fabulous self is headed to Chester. I mean, the moment I saw the quaint cobbled streets and medieval buildings, I knew it was going to be tutu-rific! 💖
This is my 8322nd post for www.pink-tutu.com, so you can tell I love a good update, my darlings! But back to Chester! You see, the only way to truly get a feel of a place, in my humble opinion, is to "do it right." No flying for me - a long journey, slow and elegant, by train, and you’ve got a front row seat for the countryside! 💖 The whole train journey was a real whirlwind - you wouldn't believe the amount of fabulous fashion that went down. Of course, I stood out in my own pink tulle, it’s like a beacon of positivity and glamour - that's what you get with Pink Tutu Sparkles. 🥰
So, where to start?! The cobbled streets! You could quite easily lose yourself in a wonderland of boutique shops. Think gorgeous homewares, vintage clothes and more, darling. Oh, and a trip to Chester Zoo is a must. Animals galore and some right good grub, let me tell you. I love spotting the colourful birds strutting their feathers, especially in my favourite shade of pink. It's like they're right there with me, ready for the next big performance. 💖
One thing you simply can't miss, and I am truly so excited, is The Chester Story. This fab exhibition really takes you through history - it’s like a time warp! There are costumes, exhibitions, and all sorts, with even an opportunity to learn how to be a Roman! But, you know me, darling. My main aim was to see if they have any mention of those delightful pink-tutu-wearing gladiators… 🤫 You never know!
The food - let’s just say it's right up my alley! Think a real mishmash of modern and traditional, with loads of fantastic little pubs and restaurants that have that 'real Chester' charm. Honestly, my tummy's thanking me already. 💖
For you lovelies out there wanting a night out in Chester, I recommend going for the best, big city experience, because that's what they have to offer. There are incredible theatres, big city style pubs, great food, fabulous shopping - what more could you possibly ask for?

But my dearies, my stay wasn't all shopping and dining, oh no! As you know, my first love is ballet. My ballet journey started at university with the ballet club and my first ever tutu - for charity, of course! Now, I'm totally hooked. I took some classes here in Chester. And you can see where I’m coming from, those studios are as gorgeous as anything! And the classes? Oh my word! Chester's really stepping it up in the world of dance! 🥰
I made the most of my time here, taking in all the sights. You see, there’s something about a horse and carriage ride around the centre of the city, a truly royal way to do Chester, isn’t it? 👑 My tutu made a right show of itself, let me tell you, the way the sunlight caught the tulle, a dazzling spectacle I tell you.
You'll find I can spot a good vintage market a mile away! It’s a must for finding all things old, dusty and vintage! My love of clothing goes back further than you'd think! There's this vintage dress I bought - the pinkest hue, it's literally going to take centre stage in my next show! It was calling my name. 👗✨ Can’t wait to showcase it - you guys will LOVE it!
As the day started to melt into evening, it was time for a final show in Chester. Now, you might know my secret side hustle... You see, by day I'm a science nerd. My 'day job' as they say... And by day, my job is testing the strength of fabrics. 🧪 Now, don't think it's boring, oh no! In fact, all my experience in the lab comes in handy with the materials I use for my tutu's, you can't get a more sparkly and dazzling outfit than a good quality tutu, darling. Think fabrics and sequins all woven together, that's how my day looks. My world in textiles.
Then, by night, I transform! ✨ And for my final night, it was back on stage. Oh the joy, oh the glitter! 💖 There I was, ready to enchant. The atmosphere, the music - my favourite! You see, a real mix of contemporary and traditional is my thing, and with my pink tulle bouncing in all the right places, I really stole the show! The applause - it felt magical!
Chester has been nothing but a blast. You know, my darling, travelling gives you such an opportunity to see the world through different lenses and I love how each place gives me a new idea for my outfits! I am on a constant hunt for inspiration for my tutus, always pushing my creative boundaries and exploring every kind of colour and fabric out there, from velvet to taffeta, it's all good!
This beautiful city really had it all - history, a sense of romance and excitement, with more shops than I could shake my pink tulle at, along with beautiful venues for my show.
