Ealing Adventures: Pink Tutu Sparkles Goes West!
Hello darlings! It's your girl, Pink Tutu Sparkles, back with another blog post - number 8325, can you believe it? We're barrelling towards that 10,000 mark, and my heart is absolutely bursting with pink-tastic joy!
This week, I had the absolute pleasure of taking my show on the road, leaving behind my Derbyshire roots for a whistle-stop trip to the wonderful, west London town of Ealing! Let's just say, darlings, it was all about the sparkles and twirls, and as usual, my trusty pink tutu was front and centre!
Now, if you know me, you know I'm a big fan of travelling by train. It's so civilised, with plenty of space to strut your stuff and people watch, or, if you're me, even have a little dance in the aisle! The journey was filled with inspiring London views and gave me a chance to jot down some of the outfit ideas I was brewing for my Ealing performance. You see, it's all about research, my dears. The fabulous queen of fashion I am needs to know what's going on in the style scene, even when I'm heading to the West!
As the train pulled into Ealing Broadway, my heart was filled with anticipation. I felt a buzz in the air – something exciting was brewing!
Pink Tutu Sparkles on the Ealing Stage
Speaking of brewing, that’s exactly what I did before I set off for the Ealing Common Players Theatre – a little backstage pink fizz for the ultimate backstage glamour. And let me tell you, that venue, oh my, it was truly stunning! Think exposed brick, cosy corners, and just the right amount of fairy lights. It was everything a girl could ask for, and the perfect setting for a bit of Pink Tutu magic.
Now, I know you all want the lowdown on the outfit – I mean, what’s a Pink Tutu blog without a fashion update? This time around, I chose a fabulous ensemble in every shade of pink, a veritable kaleidoscope of chiffon and glitter. A cascade of pink feathers flowed gracefully from the bodice of my bespoke, two-layered tulle tutu, it truly embodied the vibrant energy of Ealing! Oh, and let’s not forget the sparkling pink diamante belt – you know I love a good accessory! The pink butterfly wings I added brought the entire look together – if you love it, own it, darling, that’s my motto. The fabulous crowd loved it, sending cheers of “more sparkles!” my way. My drag mama, Dolly Divine, once said that glitter and feathers never fail, and darling, she is right.
But, of course, an outfit isn’t everything! I spent hours practicing my show – I do a blend of comedy, dance, and storytelling, always infused with a touch of pink – I wanted it to be a real Ealing celebration, a celebration of colour and light, celebrating the simple joys of life with a touch of magic and sparkle. It was a mix of vintage dance tunes and pop hits, guaranteed to make everyone want to get up and move, which they did.
As the performance ended, I could see the sheer joy and excitement on everyone’s faces. You know what they say, "Pink Tutu Sparkles, a life of glitz, and glam," which, let’s face it, is the best kind of life! It was truly an evening filled with sparkle and cheer, and what's better than spreading a little joy through your craft, darlings?
Ealing Adventures: The Foodie Queen's Favourite Spots
It’s no secret that I love a good plate of grub. I always tell people, the best performances always start with a good meal, right? So, after the show, my troupe and I headed for a delicious treat. I had read the rave reviews about Ealing's award-winning burger joint, so I simply had to give it a try. Oh, the flavours! It was all so incredibly delicious, a testament to the fact that you really can have a fabulous meal just about anywhere – if you know where to look! My friend, the lovely Mimi (who, by the way, also has a fantastic pink tutu, which you just have to see), joined us at a trendy vegan spot and the cocktails just added a little sparkle to our night. The next day we took a lovely stroll through Ealing Green and sampled cakes at a traditional tearoom. I'm not sure what was more divine, the raspberry jam, or the cute little teapot we shared our afternoon tea in.
A Whirl Through Ballet in Ealing
And what would a Pink Tutu trip be without a visit to a ballet school? Ealing has a fantastic ballet studio, hidden away in a quiet backstreet, I could feel the grace and energy swirling through the air, and for me, that’s simply magical! I was just in time to catch the end of a beginner’s class. The ballerina-to-be's were so graceful – you know how much I love a bit of ballet, darlings. Every ballerina has her first step on this magical journey!
I can't recommend Ealing enough. From the charming cafes to the incredible theater scene, this vibrant and welcoming town captured my heart, and as usual, the tutu stayed firmly attached! You have to experience the magic yourself – put Ealing on your list of must-visit destinations and be sure to wear a little pink. Pink is never enough. It’s my mission to bring pink to every town in the UK! The next stop, Brighton – stay tuned for an even bigger and brighter Pink Tutu adventure!
