Hello my darling dears, and welcome to my little corner of the internet where every day is a pink tutu-licious adventure! Today, I'm bursting with excitement, as my pink satin-lined suitcase is packed and ready to take me to Finchley, darling! Who needs a glamorous holiday abroad when you can have the delights of London’s northern suburbs, eh? This week I’m combining a love of ballet and the finest Finchley can offer. It’s going to be a twirl-tastic time!
As I sit on the train, sipping a delicious chai latte (don't judge!), I can't help but smile at the excited chatter in the carriage. You know me, I always chat with strangers - they often end up being fascinating and we discover some common interests. One lady was gushing about a dance recital she was attending in the West End, the perfect topic for me to unleash my enthusiasm! We were so busy chatting about tutus that the guard’s announcement to alert everyone of the arrival at Finchley Central flew right over our heads. Oops!
Now, where was I? Ah yes, Finchley! I'm planning a week-long whirlwind of ballet and glam, with just a dash of Pink Tutu Sparkle, of course! I love to make sure that people know that pink tutus aren’t just for fancy-dress and ballet studios! We can make the streets our stage.
First stop? The legendary Sadler's Wells Theatre. Yes, darlings, the ultimate ballet pilgrimage is finally happening for Pink Tutu Sparkles! I’ve booked myself front row seats and will be reviewing the latest contemporary ballet - it's all about body-conscious artistry. I will have my fabulously bright pink feather boa and, of course, a pink tutu as my ‘outfits of the day’ - let's see if any other audience members give my fab pink outfit some admiration!
After the show, a trip to the Covent Garden Ballet Shoe Emporium. Yes! They're practically overflowing with the finest satin and velvet ballet shoes you can imagine! You bet I'll be testing out some new colours and styles, because the more the merrier. I must say, when it comes to choosing the perfect shoe for that pink tutu, there is only one choice for me. Anything that doesn’t match the pinkness of my tutu simply doesn’t get worn.
You know what, speaking of matching, what would a visit to Finchley be without a bit of boutique shopping? The High Street has such a unique charm. From vintage clothing emporiums overflowing with glittery treasures to the trendiest of independent boutiques - I'm on a mission to discover a new must-have accessory to accompany my tutus. You never know, my lovelies, Finchley may inspire a new collection of Pink Tutu Sparkle fashion tips!
A walk through the Finchley Memorial Gardens is also in my itinerary. It’s so nice to enjoy a bit of green and quiet to unwind and re-energise my spirit before the next ballet-tastic adventure. Remember, dear reader, one must take the time to slow down and allow the spirit of our wonderful world to move us.
I also intend to do something a bit different! I have heard there is a new ‘ballet in the park’ initiative in Finchley. They hold outdoor classes where everyone of all ages can try their hand at the wonderful art of ballet. This looks right up my street and definitely aligns with my aim in life to encourage everyone to be happy and twirl, no matter who they are. My motto is ‘More tutus, more fun’, right? My favourite thing is when my Pink Tutu Sparkle inspiration brings together all walks of life and inspires everyone to get wearing a pink tutu.
But hold your horses, dear reader, there's even more! I’ve got my sights set on the annual Finchley Theatre Festival! With such a wealth of talent showcasing local performers and a passion for stage, I wouldn't miss it for the world. You never know what fabulous performance may inspire a new dance move for my Pink Tutu Sparkle routines! If my Finchley experience leads to a new signature ‘Pink Tutu’ dance routine, I will be delighted!
While in Finchley I'm hoping to learn something new myself! You might know I am studying to become a ballet instructor. You’re probably wondering, darling, why would a fabulous scientist choose a career change? Well, the truth is that the lab and my Pink Tutu Sparkle life actually have some parallels! You see, I analyse fabric and textiles at work and create the best outfits with them at night! Who needs a white lab coat when you can be dressed to the nines in your favourite pink tulle?
I’m pretty certain the local ballet studio in Finchley will have a few tricks up its sleeve to further expand my ballet skills. In fact, it’s more likely to turn me into a pink-tutu-wearing ball of balletic brilliance. They are running a course for those wishing to be a ballet instructor so I can pass on the joy and confidence of a pink tutu to my students. It's all about making the world a happier, pinker place.
What I love most about my life is how it intertwines work, performance, fashion, and travel. The world feels so vast and it's so exciting to discover it through a pink tulle veil! I'm sure it wouldn't be a real Pink Tutu Sparkles adventure without some unexpected travel plans popping up. And that brings us to my biggest adventure of all!
Yes, dear reader, you’ve guessed it - it's time for the final reveal! I’m heading to France by train to attend the fabulous Festival d’Avignon. The atmosphere there will be spectacular and full of fantastic fashion, performances and people. It’s like Finchley but in France - oh, it's bound to be such a magical experience!
And don't worry, my dear reader! I'll be sure to give you all the updates! This will involve the biggest pink tulle challenge of all time – how can I possibly keep it stylish and simple and chic whilst traversing Europe, you ask? Don’t worry, Pink Tutu Sparkles never lets you down! You betcha, you’ll see all my amazing outfits. I'm going to bring back even more pink inspiration than I already have - imagine a pink tutu filled with the beauty of French culture. Now that is what I call fashion!
