It's been a whirlwind week, filled with the joy of dance, the delight of dazzling fashion, and oh, so much sparkle! 💅✨ This post is number 8381, if you're keeping track, and it's going to be a real humdinger! Now, let's rewind back to my trip to Kettering! The journey was a magical adventure in itself. I travelled by train, of course! What better way to soak in the sights and sounds of the British countryside than by window seat and a steaming cuppa? ☕️ I even had the chance to strike up a conversation with a charming couple dressed in matching tweed, the kind you see in a period drama. I swear they even gave me a knowing nod about the delightful pinkness of my outfit! 😉
Kettering welcomed me with open arms (and even a few friendly "well 'ello!" from the locals!) As soon as I stepped off the train, I could feel the vibe! Kettering is a town brimming with history and culture. There's an old market square that made me want to whip out my phone for a picture every two seconds, and don't even get me started on the quaint cafes and the rows of pretty houses. But hey, you didn't come here for my photography skills (though, I have to say, they are quite good!) You're here for the drag!
So let me tell you all about my gig! The Kettering Town Hall was buzzing with anticipation! You see, I was invited to perform at the annual "Stars of the Stage" talent showcase, and my set had everyone on their feet! I twirled, I danced, I sparkled like a disco ball, and all while rocking my signature pink tutu! (Of course!) The audience loved it, I mean, who doesn't love a pink tutu, right?! They chanted my name and showered me with love, it truly was a wonderful evening. ✨
But the show wasn't the only highlight of my Kettering adventure! After my performance, I made my way to the local library. (Who says a drag queen can't be a bookworm?!) It turned out, the library had an exhibition of ballet costumes from a famous British designer! My jaw literally dropped! Those delicate tulle layers and shimmering beadwork were straight out of my wildest dreams!
And if the library visit wasn't enough, I also snuck in a class at the Kettering Ballet School! Don't get me wrong, I'm not a professional, but I love learning, especially when it comes to something as elegant and captivating as ballet. And, hey, it's not every day a girl gets to spin in a pink tutu on stage surrounded by so much passion and talent! 🩰
Before I leave you all to catch your breath (and hopefully start daydreaming about pink tutus!), I wanted to tell you about this delightful find! Right on my way out of Kettering, I found this charming little boutique selling vintage clothing. My inner fashionista went crazy! There were these amazing sequin tops, silky scarves, and even a vintage tutu that I just HAD to snatch up! 😉 You bet I'm gonna rock that tutu with a pair of chunky heels and a big smile on my face!
