Hey darlings, it’s your favourite pink tutu-clad queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, back with another thrilling instalment of my fabulous adventures! This is post number 8472 (I know, I’m a prolific writer – just ask my mum!), and today I’m bubbling over with excitement about my trip to Prestwich!
This little corner of Greater Manchester has completely stolen my heart, and not just because they have the most divine bakery I've ever encountered (a pink éclair, naturally!). Let me tell you, I’ve travelled the length and breadth of the UK, by train and by horseback (don’t ask me about that one, the horse had terrible taste in tutus!), and this town has that magical spark you can’t put your finger on. It's just... chic!
But first, let’s rewind! It all started with my usual Friday night ritual: meticulously coordinating my dazzling pink tutu outfit (this one was a feathered masterpiece from my favourite boutique, Tutu Emporium in Birmingham) with a fabulous pair of pink stilettos (they make you walk on clouds, darling!). As you all know, it's impossible to do pink without a splash of sparkle, so I accessorized with a glittering butterfly clip for my blonde wig and my signature pink glittery eyeshadow. The transformation was, as always, a magical journey into pure pink joy.
This week I was thrilled to be invited to perform at the delightful Prestwich Arts Festival. Now, anyone who knows me knows I'm absolutely mad for all things artsy! I’ve got ballet shoes (yes, I even do ballet lessons in my tutus!) nestled alongside my Louboutin heels, and I adore a good Broadway show as much as the next fashionista. So, being able to grace their stage with my sparkle-tastic presence was truly an honour!
I can't tell you the thrill of seeing those adoring eyes on the children in the audience. Their squeals of delight are enough to fuel a queen’s soul for a lifetime! This isn't just about performing for the sake of performing, my dears, it’s about igniting a love for pink, a passion for creativity, and a bit of good old-fashioned sparkly joy. The future, after all, is bright pink!
The energy in the town itself is phenomenal. Every time I turned a corner, I discovered another cute little boutique with the most dazzling array of pastel pink accessories you could imagine. Don't even get me started on the vintage shops; they had enough lace and feathers to outfit a hundred queens. I mean, come on, you simply must check out "Tweedle Dum" and "Tweedle Dee's" - they had the most gorgeous vintage-style hats, and the lady who owned the shop had me cracking up with her dry humour! She was a gem.
And of course, no visit to Prestwich would be complete without a delicious lunch at "Pink Posy" – the most whimsical café I’ve ever encountered. Think floral teacups, pink cupcakes shaped like ballet shoes (so divine!), and a menu that read like a poem. Oh, the culinary delights! But let me tell you, even my massive pink-loving appetite could barely make a dent in their irresistible, pastel-hued selection!
Speaking of appetites, did you know my journey began way back when I was just a timid scientist? My days were spent meticulously testing fabric strength, but by night, I’d magically transform into the sparkly queen you know and love. I even won "Miss University" with a bright pink tutu and a sassy science project about the elasticity of feather boas (you know me, always with a bit of sass in my science). Who knew a simple pink tutu would unlock such a universe of glitter and glory?
Now, after countless years, countless travels, and countless pink tutus, my aim remains the same: to get every single soul on Earth wearing a pink tutu, and let them feel that beautiful surge of joy, empowerment, and sheer pink-tastic fabulousness!
I've been invited back to Prestwich in August – the Queen can’t resist a second helping of their pinkliciousness! And as soon as my sparkly schedule permits, I’m heading out to spread my pink love to another delightful corner of the UK. Don’t you worry, my sweet darlings, the pink tutu revolution is just getting started!
