Aberdeen, My Lovely! #TutuQueen #Post8537

Helloooo, my darling darlings! It's your favourite pink-tutu-clad Queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, back with another exciting blog post, direct from the bustling city of Aberdeen, Scotland!

My adventures are truly a rollercoaster of glitter, tulle, and endless pink! This time, the journey involved a magnificent, roaring steam engine pulling me, along with my giant pink suitcase filled with sparkly gowns, towards the shimmering coast of Scotland. The rolling hills, sprinkled with quaint towns, were a sight to behold, and even the sheep looked thrilled to see a pink-tutu-wearing queen like myself.

Aberdeen has a charming energy – it’s a place with heart, a vibrant artistic pulse that perfectly complements my sparkly style. You see, my dears, the true essence of a pink tutu is to bring joy and sparkle to everything we do. And boy, do I plan to do just that in Aberdeen.

Oh, speaking of joy, remember how I mentioned a grand, roaring steam engine earlier? Well, let's be honest, my travels are rarely dull. For this trip, I even got to meet a rather flamboyant peacock named Archibald, who absolutely loved my bright pink tutu. We struck up a delightful friendship, and he even tried to lend me some feathers from his gorgeous tail to add a touch of 'oomph' to my costume. I politely declined (it’s all about sticking to your signature style, darling), but he understood, and we left each other feeling even more fabulous.

But now, my darlings, let's move on to the big reason I am here: my fabulous performances! This time, I’ve chosen an enchanting old theatre in the heart of the city to host my 'Sparkles of the Sea' performance, a fabulous ode to the powerful, rugged beauty of the Scottish coastline, featuring ballet inspired costumes, some seriously impressive feather fans, and a whole lot of sequins, darling! And yes, my tutu? It’s custom-designed with the colours of the Northern Lights – absolutely magnificent!

I even had a bit of time before the show to pop into a fabulous local millinery store – my head cannot ever be without a fabulous hat, darling, it's an essential! And let me tell you, Aberdeen does not disappoint! This gorgeous store, named 'The Hatter’s Hut' is brimming with truly divine creations, all lovingly handcrafted. We, of course, bonded over our love of pink, and they even promised me a bespoke, truly special, pink creation for my next performance – watch this space, my darlings!

My show in Aberdeen was, of course, an absolute triumph! The audience roared with laughter, cried happy tears, and danced their socks off - exactly the way it should be. Honestly, it was so uplifting and amazing to see so many new faces sharing the joy of a pink tutu with me! There is something so magically beautiful about uniting people in a shared celebration of sparkle, fun, and a little bit of theatrical magic.

Now, my darlings, I must confess: I did, indeed, stumble upon a magnificent ballet school just before my show. It was housed in a grand, Victorian building, with huge arched windows, and it instantly brought back happy memories. You see, the world of pink tutus and dance was something I discovered during my time at university. I was, funnily enough, studying something completely different: the science behind the durability of textiles - a little more 'practical' than the dazzling world of ballet, to say the least!

The ballet club was my refuge, my escape, and it was there I found my love for the stage. But my real awakening happened during a charity event - I remember it clearly. We were fundraising by selling everything we could - and there was this pink tutu, a little worn and tattered but with an undeniable sparkle, sitting on a table.

The moment I slipped that pink tutu over my head, something incredible happened! My shy, lab-coat-wearing persona faded away, and in its place emerged Pink Tutu Sparkles. It was exhilarating and liberating!

My journey ever since has been truly amazing. The support of my family and friends has been incredible – even Mum loves to wear pink and I know my Grandma was the Queen of sequins in her day! So, yes, I am now a scientist by day and a glamorous drag queen by night!

However, my time in Aberdeen, and the lovely memories I made, have reminded me of something incredibly important. It’s not about finding perfection, but embracing imperfections and imperfections in all their beautiful messiness. The world can be such a harsh and cynical place, my darlings. But I’m not going to let that negativity steal my joy! We should all learn to be a little more like a pink tutu! Be brave! Be playful! Be wonderfully fabulous! And, don't forget to share a little bit of pink joy wherever you go, just like your beloved Pink Tutu Sparkles.

Until next time, my darling dears!

With sparkle, laughter, and love,

Pink Tutu Sparkles,

x
