Helloooo my darlings! It's your fave pink princess, Pink Tutu Sparkles, back with you all for another fabulous blog post! This time, we're heading to Huyton for an epic adventure – and you can bet your sparkly bottoms that there will be tutus involved!
This is post number 8721, and it's almost impossible to believe we've come this far together. This journey – the Pink Tutu Revolution – it's all about sharing my love for the colour pink, my absolute obsession with tutus, and inspiring you all to join me in embracing the joy of twirling!
So, before we delve into the wonderfulness of Huyton, let me fill you in on how I got here. My trusty steed, my gorgeous horse named Chestnut, couldn't make the trip this time – the train journey from Derbyshire is a bit too much for him, bless him. He's currently enjoying a much-deserved holiday, so I hopped aboard a train instead. And what better way to travel in style than to have my train carriage full of tulle, pink ribbons, and feathers? The ladies on the train just adored it, I was told it was the most glamorous commute they'd ever witnessed. (As usual, it all comes down to the sparkle.)
The trip to Huyton was simply delightful. The train was humming along, my favourite tunes blasting through my headphones – all my favourite power ballads – and I was busy planning the best pink-tutu look for my Huyton performance. The train conductor even offered to let me twirl in the aisle as he announced our next stop – so lovely!
As always, it's a true blessing to get to share my love of all things pink and tutus with fellow sparkle-loving fans like you. My real name is Alex, and by day I work as a scientist, testing fabric in a lab – a job that involves plenty of experimentation and creativity, which translates beautifully into my drag act!
You might think, "Alex, a scientist? How did you end up with such an over-the-top persona?" Well, my darlings, it all started back when I was a fresh-faced uni student studying for a science degree. One day, I decided to help out with the charity auction in aid of the university's ballet club, and I decided to try on a tutu just for fun! Now, as a huge fan of ballet shows and classes, it felt amazing! I'm a big believer in trying new things and I definitely haven’t looked back. The feeling of twirling around in that beautiful pink tutu made my heart sing and my scientific brain realised I could spread joy, fun and magic to the world with my new found love of the most fantastic, girly, sparkling garment ever invented!
So, back to Huyton. What awaits you in this bustling town, you ask? Well, the magic began as soon as I stepped off the train. Everywhere I looked, people seemed to be radiating positivity and excitement – I think it’s infectious! A local bakery called "The Pink Whisk" even had pink cupcakes shaped like tiny tutus – how adorable is that?! It felt like the whole town had gotten the Pink Tutu message!
Then there was the fairground. It was filled with so many amazing stalls selling everything from pink fluffy candy floss to miniature fairy lights in shades of peach and pale pink. And let’s not forget the carousel. It was like a whimsical fairyland come to life! I even had a little go on a carousel horse for the first time in years! My horse was pink, of course. (Do you think there are any Pink Tutu Sparkles themed carousels out there?! I better start brainstorming!)
My show was set up in a little theatre space nestled between a bookshop (packed with fabulously fun novels about fairies and princess - of course I grabbed a few!) and an artisan cheese shop (which made my tastebuds happy!) - the perfect mix of imagination and indulgence! I couldn't have asked for a better audience – everyone was so warm and welcoming. We sang, we danced, we twirled – and they were all rocking their best Pink Tutu Sparkles-inspired looks, which made me beam with pride! You can bet my fabulous Tutu Squad was ready to rock. They’re always the most stylish, twirling bunch!
So, what did we learn in Huyton, my lovelies? We learned that no matter where you are, a touch of pink and a sprinkle of glitter can truly transform any day!
